Motorola somehow leaked out its i897 Amphora (seen on the right) and WX415 Heartland clamshell handsets, where the former is an iDEN model, featuring a Ferrari logo located right under the internal display which obviously suggests that it is another Ferrari-Motorola tie-up. It seems that Sprint will be the most likely candidate to offer the phone in the US, although there is no release moment attached to it just yet. As for the Motorola WX415 Heartland, that is a CDMA handset that will compose its way towards North and South America, featuring an external display and external music controls.

Western Digital has just released a new update for its WD TV Live HD, making it the first networked media hub that is capable of recognizing Windows 7. that firmware patch will enable the WD TV Live HD to show up as a destination for Windows’ Play To feature, where you will next be able to choose subject matter from the computer instead of the hub, without having to load the media player first before a video, photo or music is loaded. Still, that doesn’t mean that support for virtually any format and features available before the update is applied will vanish, so you can breathe easy knowing that 1080p video and recognition of most common media formats are still there. You will need to control Web radio from Live365 or Pandora directly from the WD TV Live’s remote though. The WD TV Live HD retails for $150 and plays nice with Macs as well just in case you were wondering.

Thanks to the newly released iPhone OS 4.0 beta 3, folks are beginning to find some additional features of the iPhone OS 4.0. Of course, since it’s still a beta, there’s no promise that the feature will be there in the final release, but there is a high chance of it making it to the final build. We’re talking about useful features such as easy file transfer, where you’ll be able to send files to your iPhone from your computer via iTunes. The inclusion of media player widgets is another gem, giving you more control by your music. Finally, for those of you who are constantly using your iPhone while on the bed, the orientation lock should be warmly welcomed, allowing you to keep the phone in portrait mode, regardless of whichever way you twist the phone.

If you’re looking for a speaker that can keep you company while on your camping trips you could consider the Eton Soulra (if you’re willing to accept its bulk). It sports an 8-watt speaker can whether capable of blaring your music for up to 7 hours on a full charge. The fact that it has a sturdy and water-resistant exterior will construct it a good companion for the outdoors. More importantly is that it can draw its juice from the sun, so you don’t have to anguish too much about battery potential. It’ll currently going for $199, which might be a tad costly for a speaker, but hey, it’s solar powered!

Ah nostalgia. How many of you out there still listen to cassette tapes? The TAP3 design from Dadahack reminds us of the good old days. It’s an MP3 player shaped like your bog standard cassette tape. You can load up your music on it via a mini USB connection or via its SD card slot. To manufacture things better, whether you still have a cassette player, you can just pop it into the player and have it operate like your traditional cassette tape. For £25, that’s not too poor, eh?

Transmitting your music wirelessly to your speakers might often subject it to interference, but the Interference Avoiding Wireless Speaker sidesteps that by operating by the FM frequency, allowing it to avoid interference from cordless phones and microwaves. The transmitter can connect to an iPod or any other audio device via a 3.5mm audio jack and can broadcast to its speaker from up to 100 feet away. The 12-watt subwoofer is augmented by an acoustic bass chamber, allowing it to produce forceful low range sounds while the 3-watt tweeter provides the high frequencies. The speaker powered by eight size-C batteries while the transmitter is powered by four AA batteries, though whether you’re short on batteries you can always fall back on AC potential.

Teclast has introduced its latest C520 portable media player which will be yet another full HD-capable device. You will be able to view your downloaded movies on its 5″ display, where it supports a wide range of codecs including VC-1, MKV, TS, AVI, RM, RMVB, 3GP, DAT, FLV, MP4, MPG, VOB, MKV and MOV videos. For those who are into music, expect that model to play nice with MP3, AAC, WMA, FLAC and APE audio file formats. Strangely ample, there is no HDMI port to help that be a true blue full HD device, making it rather pointless to watch full HD movies on a small 5″ display.
