Verizon to offer Motorola Devour

Verizon Wireless has been touted to bring the Motorola Devour to the masses, and in case the name sounds unfamiliar, perhaps the Motorola Calgary might ring a bell instead? that is touted to be a low-end alternative to the Droid, where it will come with a more basic 3-megapixel camera and a smaller display. Regardless, it should have decent muscle to run the Android 2.1 operating system when released, and holds the distinction of being one of Motorola's first handsets that will utilize its customized MOTOBLUR interface with a version of Android newer than 1.5. Can Your Motorola Droid Do That?

While the folks by at Verizon probably enjoyed poking fun at the iPhone and AT&T’s network with its “Droid Does” campaign. AT&T certainly wasn’t too happy about those, evidenced by the lawsuit fired in Verizon’s direction. Now the latest ads emphasize that the Motorola Droid on Verizon Wireless can’t manufacture use of its input connection and maintain a voice signal at the same moment. With the advertisements showing the user performing a variety of tasks such as browsing the Net, sending an mail amongst others, while still maintaining the shout. It ends with “can your network or phone do that?” which is an obvious reference to Verizon Wireless and its Motorola Droid. Check out the advertisement here and here.
