With that in place, users will be able to enjoy Dolby Digital Plus surround sound by hooking the N8 up a home theater system via an HDMI connection. Are you looking forward to more mobile phones that incorporate Dolby’s audio magic in it, or are you nonchalant about audio quality on mobile devices?

Nokia’s X-series mobile phones are hip looking music phones, and the X2 is a budget phone that still manages to fit into that category. The phone maintains the tried and tested candybar design and shouldn’t break the bank at €85($112) before carrier subsidies. The phone supports Nokia’s Comes with Music service, offering unlimited music for a whole year, though there isn’t any confirmation whether that service will be offered in the UK just yet. Technical specifications of that phone include:

While Google’s Gmail service is enjoying quite a bit of success recently, Microsoft doesn’t plan to let the search engine giant run off with the webmail crown just yet. Word is that Microsoft is planning to introduce Hotmail push newsletter support via Exchange ActiveSync, which is available on a good 300 million phones. With that in place, you’ll be able to synchronize the e mail within your phone and the web, along with calendar and contacts. The new Hotmail will include a restricted contact list of all online contacts, which includes those from services like Facebook, LinkedIn and MySpace. Other improvements additionally include improved shield measures, allowing you to recover access to your Hotmail explanation using your mobile phone or PC as proof of detail ownership. Are you looking forward to such improvements, or have you already migrated away to Gmail along day ago?

Moject (Motion Projection) looks like it’s rather cool. What it does is it allows devices to interact with projected composition, offering you a different way to interact with your devices. Devices such as handheld consoles, game consoles, computers, laptops and even mobile phones could get some cool features from that technology. You can check out a video in the full post showing an iPhone with a pico-projector bolted on, and using the iPhone’s accelerometer to recognize movements.

It’s really a handset shaped like your traditional landline phone that can be used with mobile phones, VoIP (via USB) and even iPhones and iPads. It’ll set you back $29.99 to get the device and its 3.5mm connector, but hook it up to your iPad and you’ll be able to chat with your Aunt across the continent via Skype while holding on that last shred of nostalgia.

Ever wonder how the person on the other side of the line is feeling? Is he angry, calm, or happy? whether you’re not able to tell through his tone, the features of the AffectPhone project might help. What it can do is monitor the emotions of the person on the line, and convey the feeling to the recipient via heat or coolness. Of course, both parties would need to have the same setup, but whether that were built into mobile phones in the future, customer service operators who get angry calls might end up with a lot of (literally) hot phones. Check out a video of it in action after the jump, though the speech is in Japanese.
