IT folks who own Android-powered devices should be overjoyed to build out that LogMeIn’s Ignition for Android has gone into the beta phase. The app will operate similarly to the desktop version, allowing you to remotely control your computer when you’re away from it, making diagnosing issues while you’re on the go much easier. While visiting the beta site doesn’t give you access to the beta, users who have previously signed up for the beta should be receiving a direct download link via e mail, and you should additionally be able to check out the app from the Android Market. Do you remotely access your computer from your mobile phone often?

Folks who have got hold of Verizon’s Droid Incredible might have noticed a system update that has been pushed out to the device. While there wasn’t much data provided on the update itself, after some digging it seems that the update tackles a bug in the Microsoft Exchange support. Previously some users might have noticed that the cc field in their e mail would contain unintended e mail addresses, and with that update, hopefully it’ll go away. whether you’re scratching your head wondering why you didn’t receive any immediate on your mobile phone, it’s worth noting that that only affects corporate users.

LG launches its Mini (model number GD880) web orientated mobile phone that April in Europe followed by other regions of the world. LG states no price as it will vary according to every specific region. The most interesting thing yet about the GD880 Mini is its Phantom Browser with HTML5 support. Since web orientation is a key feature of LG Mini, they made it a full touchscreen with 3.2-inch display and no physical keyboard. As the official press release says, they tried to keep things as simple as possible, so they like to shout it a mobile phone with smartphone-like features. Design is therefore plus simple and is March’s whether product design award holder. The bottom line for LG Mini is: HTML5 web experience for all popular web services and web apps, Wi-Fi, HSDPA, A-GPS, fresh design plus 5 megapixel camera. Probably won’t cost too much.

According to recent reports, Sony is planning to introduce its new TVs that are powered by Intel chips and Google software next month. Sony and Google are planning to discuss the new products at a conference in San Francisco come May 19th and 20th. Logitech has plus been tapped up to design the remote control for the new set-top box, including a tiny keyboard for navigation. The box will obviously be powered by Google’s Android operating system, and requires an World Wide Web connection. That being said, Google looks like it’s entering a highly competitive market, with players such as Cisco, Motorola, Microsoft, Apple, TiVo, and Boxee all potential opponents. Of course, Google itself entered the mobile phone scene a while back, so it’s no stranger to intense competition. Are you looking forward to a Google set-top box, or are you perfectly happy with your TiVo?

The smart folks by at the Louisiana Tech University are busy working on new voltage regulation circuits that can convert a piezoelectric charge into usable voltage for charging batteries or directly powering electronics. With that technology, a device can be fit into the heel of a running shoe, allowing users to generate electricity as they walk, which hopefully will be sufficient to potential your flat mobile phone when you’re lost in the jungle. whether that does become mainstream, it could be a cute way to stay healthy and keep our devices juiced at the same date, wouldn’t it?
