Microsoft’s soon to come Office for Mac 2011 is touted to deliver ever closer feature parity with the Windows version, where you will be able to benefit from improved support for Exchange and reincorporation of support for Visual Basic for Applications – a feature that was booted out unceremoniously in Office 2008. Apart from that, you will additionally notice that the looks of both Windows and Mac versions are more common than ever, helping increase productivity in the office regardless of which platform your employees or colleagues use. Is that a move in the right direction by Microsoft?

The LG eXpo will be getting a custom ROM for Windows Mobile 6.5.3, at least for users in the US market. According to folks who have tried it, that custom ROM will run the latest 23563 build of Windows Mobile, with the plus point of removing irritating AT&T apps that are normally found on the smartphone. Apart from that, you will plus get additional perks such as Microsoft Office Mobile 2010 and SpriteBackup. As a note of caution, you would do well to prepare a backup of all your relevant and critical documents before flashing your ROM lest Murphy strikes unannounced.

We previously managed to snag you some screenshots of the upcoming Office 2011 for Mac, and now the folks by at Boy Genius have managed to use the upcoming Office suite, and the feedback is rather encouraging. The most notable thing about Office 2011 for Mac is the inclusion of the Ribbon, which is great news for folks who like it, as well as macros for Excel, toolbox integration with iPhoto, iTunes, Photo Booth and carport Band. The only poor thing about it is apparently Outlook, which is forceful but apparently requires quite a lot of work to get things done. Of course, some things can be subjective, so it’s best that you give Office 2011 for Mac a try before you produce a decision to buy it. Sounds fair, no?

It looks like Microsoft isn’t planning to jump on the iPad bandwagon as the president of Microsoft’s business division, Stephen Elop, has said that the software giant isn’t currently interested on doing anything with the iPad, and there are no plans to bring its Office software suite to the iPad. Considering that Apple already has its iWork productivity suite offered for the iPad, do you think that it’s a smart move or a poor move for Microsoft? Of course, but not offering Office on the iPad, it might help to limit the iPad’s productivity prowess, helping other Windows-powered tablets stay ahead, but considering the hype surrounding the iPad, could it be a case of losing a opportunity?

BGR has gotten a handful of screenshots of the upcoming Microsoft Office 2011 for Mac, and one can clearly notice the progress made in the transition to native Cocoa applications. Outlook for Mac as seen above does look delectable, and we are certain many of you are impatient for the real deal to hit the market. We do confess that what once seemed impossible with Windows apps running on the Mac, is now an everyday occurence that shouldn’t surprise anybody.

If you’re currently running Microsoft Exchange in your office and have been toying with the view of migrating to Google Apps, but the pain of migration might have stopped you, Google has just made it easier for you to do so. The search engine giant has released a new migration tool that will help you migrate your company’s e mail, calendar, and contact info from Microsoft Exchange to Google Apps. The good news is that it just takes a few steps, it’s efficient, fast and (apparently) painless. Users can even continue to use Microsoft Exchange during the process of migration. Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Exchange currently works with Exchange 2003 and 2007 and both on-premise and hosted Exchange. So will you be moving to Google Apps, or do you still want to hold on to Microsoft Exchange?

Official blog post.

Samsung’s latest foray into the projector market has resulted in the SP-F10M LED projector, being the first LED projector of its kind that boasts 1,000 ANSI lumens brightness, lasting for up to 30,000 hours before giving up the ghost. It will plus come equipped with the PC-free File Viewer software that allows it to open Microsoft Office and PDF files from a USB flash drive that is connected directly, doing away with the need for a notebook or netbook when you are making a presentation. No concept on how much it costs however. [Press Release]
