With the Iron Man 2 movie just around the corner (and more or less guaranteed to be a summer blockbuster), you can be certain that hype which pursues the movie will have a trail of merchandise to go along with it. Case in point, the $20–plus Iron Man 2 walkie talkies that ought to keep junior and friends happy, talking with one another at a distance while portraying to be Iron Man and War Machine, taking down baddies surrounding them from all sides. Too poor the real Iron Man would’ve had way cooler communication tools than that…

The Iron Man 2 movie is just around the corner, and whether you’re having a hard moment waiting for the movie to be released, we can empathize with you. The UK Iron Man 2 website has released a little something to help you get prepared for the movie. The website uses augmented reality (along with your webcam) to allow you to suit up your head using the Iron Man or War Machine helmet. Aside from the seeing yourself look cool, you can plus take a look at what it would be like from the inside of the HUD (heads up display). The best part is that you can record your interactions and link the video on Facebook or Twitter. So are you going to be Iron Man or War Machine?

With the Iron Man 2 movie just around the corner, the digital life assistant that Chad Barraford came up with looks like it will fit in perfectly. While we’d all like a supercool home intelligence system like Iron Man’s JARVIS, but we wouldn’t mind what Chad has come up with too, particularly since it can recognize him and more importantly, cook hot dogs. While he’s currently showing off his creation on his website, the poor news is that he’s not sharing the cipher that runs it, so whether you want to feel more like Iron Man, you’ll have to come up with one of these yourself, or buy a costume. We all love robots, but in the end, it’s hard to think of a robot that’s cooler than Iron Man, and while we’re all busy waiting for Iron Man 2 to be released, a fan has come up with a really cool Iron Man armor, complete with a servo-controlled Iron Man helmet. It’s probably worth mentioning that the creator of that armor is the head of a professional prop-making studio, which would partially explain why that armor is so cool, not that we’re saying there wasn’t a lot of hard work involved. Let’s have a show of hands here – how many of you out there wished you were bitten by a radioactive spider (and survive the ordeal) only to be endowed with Spider-Man’s powers? Well, we believe that many public wished they were the webslinger during their childhood, but that fantasy could soon become a reality thanks to Cornell University researchers who claim to have developed a palm-size liquid-adhesion device which allows one to cling onto walls in the same manner as Spider-Man. As with many scientific advances, that one was plus inspired by nature, using bonding methods that were found in a beetle native to Florida which allowed it to stick to a leaf’s surface via wet adhesion even with a force 100 times its own weight. Well, you can’t remain “sticky” all the duration, so good thing the boffins there have come up with the “Switchable Electronically Controlled Capillary Adhesion Device” that is basically an On/Off switch.

Are you a huge Pac-Man fan? Well, that retro looking Pac-Man watch might be just what you’ve been looking for in your quest to become the greatest Pac-Mac collector on the planet. Somehow, Pac-Man stuff never seems to get old, and it’ll be interesting to see what item the marketing folks will stick Pac-Man on in the future.

If you thought that getting hitched underwater of hooked up while playing World of Warcraft etc is weird, what till you take in about the Love Plus dating sim. Apparently one guy loves his virtual girlfriend, Nene Anegasaki, so much that he’s going to marry it (her?). The magical moment is set for November 22nd, and he’s invited the media to attend, so it looks like there will be some coverage of it. What do you think of that?
