App Store Is Now Accepting iPad Apps

With the iPad just around the corner, developers are going to be jumping for joy when they receive the mail from Apple (which has been sent out) notifying them that they can now start submitting apps for the iPad App Store. The app will obviously be reviewed by Apple’s App Review Team, which is pretty much the same process for submitting your app for the iPhone. You’ll need to submit your app by March 27th in order to produce it for the grand opening. Don’t forget that your app needs to be built using the iPhone SDK 3.2 Beta 5 in order to be accepted for the initial review. Do you have any apps lined up to be reviewed by the App Review Team already?

Verizon Push-To-Talk application for BlackBerry smartphones

Verizon has made good on its word to introduce the Push-To-Talk application for BlackBerry smartphones, where that free to download application can be maintained via a $5 monthly fee. With Verizon’s BlackBerry PTT app, one will be able to produce unlimited nationwide calls to other PTT devices, with key features being its ability to form group calls with up to 50 participants (great to have a mass relative meeting), Presence to check out who is available for PTT calls, easy management of Push to Talk contacts, and even the ability to access mail and surf the Web when you're on a Push to Talk signal. Anyone given it a go yet, and how do you find it?

Motorola i890 available on Sprint

Motorola's rather plain looking i890 is a basic handset with Push To Talk functionality, where it is available from Sprint with a 2-megapixel camera, speakerphone capability, Bluetooth connectivity, an integrated MP3 player and GPS navigation capability - pretty surprising considering that is supposed to be a basic handset. It retails for $129.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and agreeing to a 2-year contract.

Verizon Rugged Casio Brigade C741 Is Currently Available

Verizon Rugged Casio Brigade C741 Is Currently Available

The Casio Brigade C741 was approved by the FCC a few months back, but surprisingly it seems that the phone has already been available in various Verizon retail stores without much fanfare. Some folks have already managed to purchase the device, and it plus seems that it can be ordered via telesales. Apparently the Brigade C741 will be going for $249 after a $50 mail-in rebate, and will come with the customary (and mandatory) contract. It should start to be sold nationwide from March 14th, which is just around the corner, so keep your eyes and ears open whether that is the phone that you’re checking out at the moment.

Netsee UNC-890 netbook

Netsee UNC-890 netbook

Netsee has introduced its latest super slim netbook known as the UNC-890 in the South Korea market, where it measures under an inch thin, tipping the scales at 920 grams. You will get an 8.9" widescreen LCD display at 1,024 x 600 resolution, alongside an Intel Atom N270 1.6GHz processor, 1GB RAM, a 3-megapixel webcam, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 32GB SSD. You will be able to pick it up in either white or red colors. Seems pretty rudimentary, and would manufacture for a great portable mail and surfing machine but don't expect it to do much more than that.

Sprint drops Palm Pixi to $50

Sprint drops Palm Pixi to $50

Sprint has lowered the price of its already cheap Palm Pixi to just $50 in the US, hoping to bolster sales of the entry-level webOS phone by some margin. After all, Palm isn't precisely doing gangbusters financially at the moment even with a great looking smartphone (we're talking about the Palm Pre and the Pre Plus) with its webOS platform, since they seem to be a little too late to the game. $50 is a steal, considering the device was originally priced at $349.99, where the new $50 mark was achieved thanks to an instant $200 reduction coupled with a $100 mail-in rebate.
