The trend for all-in-one (AIO) machines is moving in a favorable direction, and Shanzai aims to exploit that lucrative market window by lining up a handful of AIOs which sport the next-gen dual-core Intel Atom processor stored within a chassis that holds a 18.5” display. Other specifications include 1GB RAM and a 160GB hard drive, an optical drive, a memory card reader alongside wireless capability for both keyboard and mouse pripherals. No view on pricing at press moment yet though, but expect it to give other more established manufacturers a hard date with their expected lower prices.

Could that be it? Finally, has Apple realized what a lucrative market the iPhone/iPod dock is? The company from Cupertino, California, has filed for a patent application for a new kind of universal Dock which ought to bring some forward looking technology to the table. We're talking about an elastic, sponge-like substance being used which is able to conform to any device while holding it in place. Apart from that, the dock is additionally able to retain the imprint of your device so that you won't need to reconfigure it the next moment round. Resetting it is as easy as pushing a button so that a totally different device will play nice with it. Good going Apple - now show us the final product soon, please?

Sony to launch online portal

An online store is a big thing thanks to the iTunes' unprecedented success on a global scale, and Sony doesn't want to lose out on that potentially lucrative market whether executed rightly, having announced plans to roll out an online portal for music, movies, books and other subject matter including applications. The new Sony Online Service is supposed to assist the company in hitting Apple where it hurts - iTunes. Hopefully they won't introduce all the crap DRM and proprietary formats in the process.
