Saving energy and going green seems to be on the agenda of many folks these days, and these software-controlled networked LED lights are certainly worth looking into thanks to a digital startup known as Digital Lumens. These networked LED light fixtures are touted to save up to 90% of energy when compared to regular HID lights which are normally found in warehouses and commercial buildings, thanks to sensors and software which control precisely how and when the lights are used. Basically, whenever there is more daylight, less artificial light will be used. The system can even be programmed so that it is aware of when selected zones require more light during the day.

LED mittens light up whenever you shake hands

The act of shaking hands dates back centuries, fast forward to today and you get a pair of LED-equipped mittens which will light up whenever you shake hands with someone else. that was specially made using two pieces of conductive fabric that are located around the thumb and across the palm, and when touched by bare, ungloved skin, the LED will turn on. Heck, whether you are enterprising ample, you can even knit your own mitten as well as the conductive yarn.

There is a pocket battery pack which powers the illuminated footwear. Each shoe holds nine LEDs, which ought to light up the night or dancefloor, although pulling off slick moves might prove to be awkward.

Game Boy Gets Steampunk Mod

You’ve probably seen many steampunk mods on various items by the years, and here’s another one to add to your list of steampunk devices – the steampunk Game Boy. It seems to have been done pretty nicely, and anybody to takes a glance at it will know that the theme is a steampunk one. Aside from the looks, the creator of that has plus popped in the pro sound mod (increasing the output volume of your Game Boy), as well as changing the standard red LED light for an orange one. It took the better part of a week to complete that project, though it wasn’t mentioned how many hours a day was spent. Would you want to spend a week to invent your Game Boy look cool again?

Noko H-988 portable media player

The Noko H-988 portable media player definitely plays with the make awareness that Nokia has built up by the years, where it comes in a zinc alloy case that has a clear strip with an LED light located at the bottom which screams for attention, particularly when you use it in the dark (such as watching trailers on it in the cinema before the show starts). Despite having a 4.3" display, that portable media player does handle 1080p video playback and with its TV out port, you can always hook it up to your HDTV and enjoy pre-loaded movies on the big screen instead.

Would you want to be bathing in a LED light shower in the future? The view from Visentin is a luxury shower head that bathes you in a rainbow of therapeutic colored LED lights such as orange, renewing white, relaxing blue, healing pink or refreshing green, each with its own therapeutic qualities, turning your shower into some sort of a home spa. It certainly looks futuristic, and who knows, possibly we’ll all be using that sometime in the future, right?

Who would have thought that your regular LED-powered flashlight could actually double up as a spy camera? The camera module is located right smack in the middle of the LED flashlight, although we're not too certain what kind of movie quality you end up with when the flashlight is shining brighter than the star which shone above Bethlehem 2,000 years ago. Given specifications include the ability to shoot videos in VGA quality at 30fps and phoros in 1,600 x 1,200 resolution, with 2GB of internal memory to back up all your memories while a microSDHC memory card slot helps augment its storage capacity even further.
