Another Xbox 360 Modified Into A Laptop anatomy Factor

This certainly isn’t the first project to convert an Xbox 360 into a laptop form factor, but it’s certainly one of the prettier mods. Despite the loud 8 fans whirring, you have to confess that it looks rather good, and considering that it packs in an LCD screen, integrated Wi-Fi, camera, optical drive and full keyboard, it’s probably something you’d want to bring with you on a weekend trip. That being said, perhaps they overran their budget while creating that mod, as it’s currently up for sale on eBay for $1,950 (at day of writing). Have you done anything cool to your Xbox before? Let us know via the comments section. Video of that modified Xbox 360 in action after the jump.

Laptops disrupt lectures. So let’s ban lectures!

March 14, 2010

Lecturing professors nowadays face a room full of students paying full attention -- to their laptops. A lecture, by definition, is a method of teaching whereby a person talks and an audience pays attention. But a laptop is an interruption machine that fragments attention. Lectures and laptops are incompatible activities. Some professors have addressed the fundamental incompatibility of lectures and laptops by banning the laptops. But possibly it would be better to keep the laptops and ban the lectures. Here's why.

Wii turned into laptop casemod

Wii turned into laptop casemod

OMGPedoBear (what a nick) is pretty talented to come up with a portable Wii laptop casemod, where the entire project took him three months to complete. Created from expanded PVC sheets, he placed a 17" LCD monitor in the lid while games are loaded in an unorthodox manner - you will need to place the Wii DVD upside down via the front-loading tray. He plus threw in two more fans to deal with the additional heat generated. Heck, surfing the Net is plus made much easier thanks to the incorporation of a full QWERTY keyboard.
