LG SU950 Introduced in Korea

Aside from the recently announced LU2300, LG has just announced the LG-SU950, dubbed the KU9500 by KT in Korea. While there isn’t any pricing info just yet, we do know that that phone is slated to be released around May or June in Korea. Specifications of the LG-SU950 include:

Sales Of Samsung Omnia II Top 600,000 In South Korea

Samsung certainly seems rather smug, and it should be, as the company has announced that its Omnia II smartphone has surpassed 600,000 units in South Korea. According to Samsung, the Omnia II has averaged about 100,000 units a month, and users are satisfied with its performance and after sales service. It’s plus worth noting that Samsung sells different versions of its Omnia II in South Korea, with the T*Omnia II for SKT, SHOW Omnia for KT and the OZ Omnia for LGT. Motorola XT720 To Hit South Korea

Mid last-year, we heard that there would be a Motorola Android phone released in South Korea in early 2010, and it seems that we were right. The Motorola XT701, which was released in China, will be released in South Korea next month via SK Telecom, though it will be branded as the Motorola XT720. Aside from the XT720, SK Telecom has plans to launch a good 13 Android phones that year, while its main rival, KT, is plus looking to release a few Android phones of its own. In case you aren’t familiar with that phone, its specs include:

Android 2.0
3.7-inch WVGA touchscreen display
Wi-Fi
GPS
Bluetooth
HDMI port
Mobile TV (T-DMB)
8-megapixel camera with auto-focus and flash

iPhone Ads In Korea

With the iPhone launched in Korea, KT will certainly want to promote the phone heavily in order to get the ball running. We’ve managed to dig up some of the advertisements here (in Korea), so do check them out. In case you were wondering, the iPhone that’s launched in Korea will sport copy and paste, so the folks by there won’t have to survive without it, unlike us who had to wait a distant instance for it. Cisco launches shield app, iPhone to grab 10% of 3G market in china, KT looks to sell 500K handsets

Cisco has announced a new shield application for the iPhone called SIO to Go. The app is designed to allow users to get alerts on new shield threats and other info on safe web surfing.

China Unicom has said that it expects the iPhone to capture by 10% of the 3G market in China. whether you figure in the glut of grey market iPhones already on the market there I wonder whether the iPhone already has 10%.

The South Korean iPhone distributor KT has announced that it expects to sell 500,000 iPhones in its market. The iPhone is set to hit South Korea on November 28.
