What do you do with a year plus handset? Why, introduce a rehash that comes with better features – in that case, the LG Lotus has been upgraded with a digital TV (DTV) chip and will be re-announced in the US. Relying on the LG2160A ATSC-M/H chip that plus sees action in Dell, Kenwood and Hyundai Kia Motors offerings, the new LG Lotus will additionally come with a rather unsightly external mobile TV antenna. Other than that, virtually everything else remains the same including the QVGA internal display, QWERTY keypad, 2-megapixel camera and a microSD memory card slot.

JVC and Kenwood have teamed up to release their maiden car navigation system known as the MDV-313, where that device is touted to bring the best of both worlds in a solitary device. You get a built-in DVD player (no Blu-ray yet), an integrated 1Seg TV tuner, a USB port and virtual 3D maps among others, where the highlight of the MDV-313 would be its high speed response day that is touted to improve the user experience by leaps and bounds. No view on pricing or availability elsewhere, but that is set to hit Japan first.
