The good news for existing users is that the money that was spent purchasing streaming music will be converted into iTunes credit, which does seem like a generous move. Geohot does not look likely of rolling out his latest jailbreaking exploits for the iPhone and iPad in the near future, but that doesn’t mean either are not on their way to being released. It seems like Facebook isn’t the only way to scam users using the iPad as bait. Now the folks by at Bitdefender have found a virus that tries to lure iPad users. A link to the virus arrives in the scheme of an unsolicited newsletter, urging you to update your iTunes to get the “best performance, newer features and security”. When infected, your Windows PC will thereupon be open to unauthorized access (which is something that you don’t want). So whether you come across an e mail that seems to talk about weird stuff related to your iPad, you might want to think twice before clicking, and keep your antivirus updated. that virus doesn’t affect Mac users according to BitDefender’s statement.

For those of you who love Wi-Fi (which probably means the whole world), a developer has released a video promoting his Wi-Fi Sync app to the world. whether the name didn’t already give it away, the app allows you to sync your iPhone (or iPod touch) with iTunes without all the cable fuss. It seems pretty straightforward, functioning as the iPhone would when connected via cable. The developer is looking to submit the app for approval at the end of the week, and hopefully the folks by at Apple approve that, as it does seem rather useful. Video after the jump.

The Creative Sound Blaster SB1250 has gone through the scrutiny of the folks at the FCC, where it has been codenamed “Lories” and will come with a touchscreen of unknown size, some media playback keys, a headphone jack and 2.4GHz wireless connectivity. No notion on what the Creative Sound Blaster SB1250 is supposed to control though, but let us not close the doors on it pulling the strings for Creative’s Sound Blaster Wireless for iTunes or perhaps even a sequel.

True blue multitasking for the iPad might not reach until iPhone OS 4 rolls out that autumn, but it seems that a couple of new apps have arisen on iTunes that offers a glimpse into the future – we’re talking about a browser which is capable of running a separate in-screen window for web apps such as Twitter, Facebook and other chat clients, letting you do so while surfing the Web. The two apps are Multitasking for iPad and Multitasking browser, where the former allows you to only run Twitter and Facebook streams in the background, while the latter has a maximum of three windows being in view simultaneously, capable of running more than 20 web apps at once.

What makes the iHome iA5 alarm clock iPhone dock very different from the rest would be it shipping with is own customized application known as the iHome+Sleep app which is available on the iTunes App Store for free. It lets you program up to 18 sleep or nap alarms (as though you need that many!), alongside custom 7.5.2 settings for weekdays, workdays and the weekend. It retails for $99.99 a pop and does look as though its Reson8 speaker chamber technology is able to wake you up much better than the iPhone or iPod touch’s very own speakers.

The folks by at PixelCUBE Studios, who currently hold the top spot on iTunes’ list of free iPhone app downloads, have found some rather interesting usage stats. It seems that three different versions of the iPhone OS 4 have surfaced in its analytics: 4.0, 4.0.1 and 4.1. Of course, it wouldn’t be too surprising whether Apple were working on multiple versions of the iPhone firmware at the same instance. that could plus turn out to be someone’s notion of a joke. whether it’s true, we’re certainly looking forward to the updates, particularly the iPhone 4.0 details that Thursday.

While it’s not explicitly mentioned, you have to wonder whether the latest promotional video of the HP Slate is taking digs at Apple’s newly launched iPad. The video clip (after the jump) doesn’t mention anything about specs, pricing or availability, but it does remind us that the device supports SD cards, as well as USB connectors, something which isn’t available on the iPad by default. The funny thing is, the HP Slate seems to be running iTunes (which is fine) and the USB cable that’s plugged into the device looks awfully similar to Apple’s iPhone USB cable. Could it be a subtle knowledge from HP that that device is as good as, or better than Apple’s iPad?

The $25.99 game comes with a special cipher for downloading the software component from the iTunes iPad app store.
