iTablet from X2 of the UK

X2 of UK will be revealing a new device known as the iTablet in the near future, and we have no view on whether the folks at X2 went ahead with that naming convention considering that they know Apple is more than ready to roll out the iPad, in order to gain attention and free publicity, or do they think that they really have a chance legally to keep the naming convention considering Apple owns the iTablet.com domain? The iTablet is powered by Windows 7, and runs off an Intel Atom 1.6GHz processor, coming in 10.2" and 12.1" sizes while carrying a 250GB hard drive, a 3G chip and supports Bluetooth connectivity. Unlike the iPad, the iTablet is a proper computing device, boasting a trio of USB 2.0 ports, HDMI out support and a 1.3-megapixel camera. It will only hit the market that April for a yet unannounced price.

Mustek MER-6T ebook reader

The Mustek MER-6T ebook reader is ready to hit the market, where it comes with a 800 x 600 resolution black-and-white display, supporting a wide range of ebook formats such as PDF (Free/DRM), ePub (Free/DRM), TXT, RTF, FB2, PRC,/MOBI and HTML. The built-in 2GB memory is capable of holding up to 1,600 books, but good thing you can carry more digital tomes with you thanks to its expandable memory. No word on pricing or availability, but we do wonder whether other ebook manufacturers are quaking in their boots as Apple prepares the iSlate/iTablet - with all the hype surrounding Apple's rumored upcoming device, you would think that that is all the world can think about.

iTablet Hoax Surfaces

A report from the Huffington Post has been making rounds on the Web about an iTablet. The composition was certainly written tongue in cheek, though many public did think that it was confirmation that the iTablet had become a reality. That being said, with the anticipation so high that Apple will be releasing an Apple Tablet sometime soon, it’ll be great to see Apple suddenly lift the lid on such a product, and we’re fairly certain that it would generate a lot of hype.
