Speculation is mounting that the upcoming release of Apple’s iPhone 4G might cause another shortage of flash memory in the market. With Apple expected to ship a good 40 million iPhones that year, which is a significant increase from 25 million a year back, there does look like there could be a shortage. To compose matters worse, Apple is expected to ship about 7-8 million iPads that year too, which will put another dent in the amount of supplies. Apple is already commonly regarded as the loner largest consumer of flash memory in the world, since it uses built-in memory in its devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPods while other manufacturers rely on removable cards.

MEDL Technology has introduced The Panel prototype, which is touted to be the first fully functional, portable LED monitor in the world. that multi-purpose LED display will cater to both businesses as well as consumers, being a highly portable 13″ display which tips the scales at 2.2lbs. The Panel can hook up to computers regardless of whether they are running on a Mac or Windows platform, thanks to a common USB cable. Features include a 5-hour battery life, WXGA resolution, LED brightness, high definition support as well as compatibility with a slew of other devices including portable video players, cameras, DVD players, iPhones, iPods and gaming platforms such as Xbox and PS3. Why can’t they just ship it by across the Atlantic for those who want one, we wonder? Anyways, we digress – that device does as it says, throwing up to a 70″ image on a suitable viewing surface of any video or image slideshow that you are currently going through, boasting a battery life of 1.5 hours alongside the ability for it to hook up to other external video devices (as enlarged as they’re compatible, that is). It has a fully adjustable focus and is additionally equipped with its own stand. Any takers?

V-MODA’s latest Remote Remix in-ear headphones was specially designed to see action with the iPhone 3GS, more recent iPods and MacBooks. You will find that it comes with a microphone for you to invent hands-free calls, while a three button in-line control for music playback and VoiceOver or Voice Control functions is easily accessible regardless of what you’re doing at the moment. While it targets the Apple user group primarily, that doesn’t mean the Remote Remix cannot be used with other devices that come with a 3.5mm audio jack, albeit you will lose some Apple-only functionality. Interested parties can pick up the V-MODA Remote Remix in-ear headphones for $100 when it arrives later next month.

If you’re still rushing to find a gift for your significant other that coming Valentine’s Day, a good guideline would be something that has a heart in it. whether you agree with that suggestion, thereupon that pink heart-shaped aluminum iPod speaker dock is probably something you might want to consider. It claims to support all the iPods and iPhones, so whether you have one of those MP3 players, you should be good to go. It can blare out your favorite music when powered by four AAA batteries, or a DC charger. Do you think that £24.95 ($39) would be too much to spend on a Valentine’s gift?

Just like the iPhone in all its iterations as well as the family of iPods, it is fitting that the iPad gets a dock of its own – although you can tell that such a dock would definitely be relatively much larger in size. that keyboard dock boasts a full-size mechanical keyboard that slides in the iPad in portrait mode, where it comes with a carrying case similar to that of the Amazon Kindle while featuring a stand. Guess that more or less answers our question on who would use the iPad as a work device with plenty of typing to be done. No word on mouse support, as that might be contrary to the way the entire interface was designed. Expect to see future iterations with built-in speakers, subwoofers and perhaps a webcam.

With so many young citizens these days listening to their iPods at very loud levels, it won’t come as a surprise that many years from now, these same once-young folks will have a diminished sense of hearing, which is why the market for hearing aids has plenty of room to grow. How about being more eco-friendly in the future as well by starting today with the Solar Ear? that is the first solar-powered hearing aid rechargeable charger in the world, featuring a couple of rechargeable Ni-Mh AA batteries that take up to 8 hours of direct sunlight to charge. When fully juiced up, just place the hearing aid batteries inside and you’re good to go. The unit’s batteries are touted to have a lifespan of 2 to 3 years, which is the equivalent of 300 charges.

The Onda VX575+ gets even more impressive with support for full HD capability, hitting 1,920 × 1,080 pixels for the uninitiated. Apart from that, you get On-The-Go operate to complement otherwise an already pretty impressive portable media player. The other original specifications remain, including a 5″ 800 × 480 resolution display, a jog-wheel on the side for easier navigation, support for RM/RMVB, MPEG(AVI), MKV, MOV, FLV, MPG, VOB, MPE, DAT, TS, MP3, WMA, AAC, APE, FLAC and TXT file formats. $133.85 will net you the 8GB version, which is pretty darn decent, although you will miss out on the intuitive Apple interface that is so famous on their iPods.

Each household has more or less at least one iPod, and many homes have two or more – one for each occupant. Well, that is where the new shelf systems from JVC – the JVC NX-D2 and JVC UX-F3 come in, where both of them are able to hold a couple of the portable media players simultaneously. The former features a almighty 230-watt system with three-way speaker design, juicing up the two iPods side-by-side at the same duration while letting you playback your tunes from each via the dock’s speaker system. As for the JVC UX-F3, that model pumps out 60 watts of juice and is paired with two-way speakers, offering video output that lets you hook up whatever video substance you have on your iPod to your TV – no high definition support here though. Other standard features for both shelf systems include USB support, a CD player just in case you want to get retro with your collection and an integrated AM/FM tuner. You can pick up the JVC UX-F3 and JVC NX-D2 for $199.95 (May) and $399.95 (January), respectively.

[CES 2010] Sean “Diddy” Combs isn’t satisfied sufficient to create an economic empire around his name, and has now entered the consumer electronics industry with his pair of Diddy Beats headphones in partnership with Monster. Each purchase will compose Sean Combs $149 richer as he lives it out, while you propogate his type to the masses. Apart from looking good, the Diddy Beats in-ear headphones ain’t too shabby a performer as it comes with a high-tech aluminum and leather-wrapped housing and high-polished enamel. We don’t suppose that future Diddy record releases will come with an added note at the bottom, “Sounds better when listened to with the Diddy Beats headphones.” Apart from that, the Diddy Beats come with Monster’s ControlTalk headphone cable that allows you to manipulate iPhones and iPods for music playback as well.
