Following the footsteps of the iPod nano, RAmos’ Q28cam portable media player comes with a built-in camera that ought to manufacture it a far more versatile portable photo frame – after all, you will be able to snap photos on the spot and share them with friends whom you’re meeting up with later. Of course, it won’t be a replacement for your digital camera anytime soon since it maxes out at 3-megapixels, but still, that’s better than nothing. Apart from taking stills, you can plus record 720p videos with it, encoded with H.264 in MP4 files. While there aren’t any other specifications revealed, that looks set to stand out from the standard fare we’re used to seeing.

At one glance, you can tell that the MSI MT-V551 portable media player is pretty much similar to a device that most of us are familiar with – the iPod nano. Heck, it is based on a Rockchip chipset known as RKnano, but won’t offer iTunes support for obvious reasons. Meant for music playback primarily, it is equipped with a 1.5″ CSTN color display (which won’t work well under bright sunight), supporting MP3, WMA, WAV, APE and FLAC audio file formats. While it can additionally handle MPEG-4 videos, that is not something we would recommend considering of the screen size. Apart from that, you are additionally able to browse images as well as read TXT files, but at that screen size, you might ruin your eyes faster than you might think. No view on pricing or availability.

Made with silicon injection technology, the Acoustiglove will boast a special pocket-friendly cord management system that relies on pre-designed slots to cleat headphone wires in place so that you won’t have to wrestle with a tangled mess each day you want to listen to your favorite tunes or watch a movie, alongside compatibility with the previous generation iPod nano. You will be able to pick up the Acoustiglove early next year for $19.99 a pop, which means you’ve got to look for something else that Christmas.

The Aldi is another iPod nano clone for the masses, where it will lack the go Wheel found on the regular iPod nano, although it is equipped with an integrated FM tuner. When it comes to video playback, don’t expect the Aldi to bring the house down with just AMV file format support, but soon after again how much do you expect from a $43 device from China? Battery life stands at 3 hours for both music and video playback, but interestingly abundant it comes with a 3-year warranty. It does lead us to question though – companies like these that churn out such clones, will they be around after a couple of years to honor the warranty agreement?

Love going snorkeling or diving? Taking casual underwater photos and videos now need not be an expensive affair whether you’re armed with an iPod nano 5G – all you need is H2O Audio’s $79.99 Capture case that allows you to shoot photos with the rest of the fishes while enjoying your favorite musical tunes thanks to its waterproof headphone jack. Apart from that, you still wield full control by the iPod even when encased, allowing your iPod nano to operate equally well be it on land or in the sea. Just don’t go down too deep though, as the integrated polycarbonate lens won’t survive beyond 12 feet of water.

The iRiver E30 is finally available in China, and we can’t wait to see it reach on our shores (if ever) mainly due to its incredible battery life that can last continuous for up to 52 hours. The iRiver E30 does resemble the iPod nano from convinced angles, where it will come in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities, accompanied by an integrated FM tuner and the ability to record incoming broadcasts for you to catch up with later. Apart from that, there are whispers of the iRiver E30 recording videos, too, but we’ll take that with a pinch of salt for the moment until something more concrete turns up.

You know you’re on to something when most other folks clone your device or steal your concept, and the entire iPod range has fallen victim to cloners of China by the past few years due to the immense popularity of the original portable media player, and that is a trend that doesn’t seem to let up. that clone of the iPod nano comes with a 2.2″ LCD display alongside a built-in VGA camera, supporting popular audio and video gile formats. Too poor there doesn’t seem to be a memory card slot to augment the rather paltry 2GB internal memory. At least when you get bored of your limited number of tunes, you can always tune in to the local radio stations via its integrated FM radio.

Rumors of an iPod touch that has a camera have surfaced again, and that moment it’s said that the device will be released in spring 2010, which is slightly strange, considering that it’s outside of Apple’s typical upgrade cycle. Apparently the camera will be the same 2-megapixel camera that the iPod nano has, and unfortunately will plus lack autofocus and low-light sensitivity. We’re fairly certain that nobody will be complaining whether Apple decides to add a camera to its iPod touch, unless they decide to increase the price significantly.
