Details On Upcoming AMD Processors Leaked
March 19, 2010

AMD should be releasing its desktop-oriented 6-core processors, codenamed Thuban, next month. The first release should see four chips, the Phenom II X6 1035T, 1055T (in 95W and 125W TDP versions), and the 1075T being released. The chips, manufactured on the 45nm technology, should be sporting 9MB of cache, not to mention an integrated DDR3 memory controller. While there isn’t any pricing info available just yet, thanks to leaked CPU support lists, we do know that the X6 1035T will sport 6-cores at 2.6GHz, while the X6 1055T will be clocked at 2.8GHz. Finally, the Phenom II X6 1075T will be clocked at 3.0GHz. Do you think that the chips will give Intel’s Core i7 a run for its money?

Is Intel Having Trouble Meeting The Demand For Its Latest Processors?
March 19, 2010

It’s still unconfirmed, but word is going around that Intel is struggling to meet the demand for its new family of Core mobile processors. The chips, which are expected to be used in the upcoming updates for Apple’s MacBook and MacBook Pro lines are in high demand, apparently Acer has made a rather large order for Intel’s latest Core i3/i5/i7 chips, and coupled with Apple’s chip requirements, that is going to give second-tier and smaller notebook makers a hard duration. Hopefully Intel manages to get its supply issues sorted out soon, as we certainly want to see new notebooks rocking the latest processors, don’t we?

HP Slate To Be Launched In Europe In June For €400?
March 19, 2010

While there hasn’t been any official price or release term for the HP Slate in the U.S. just yet, news is already out that the device could be launched in June, and be ready for sale in Europe by September. Based on the info we dug up, the device will be going for around €400 ($545), and will sport an Intel Atom CPU, built-in webcam, USB connectivity, built-in card reader and the controversial Flash support. Of course, that doesn’t mean that we’ll be getting the HP Slate for $545 when it’s released in the U.S., but it might be a rough guide whether you’re thinking of saving up your pennies for its imminent launch. Would a $545 price point be decent for the HP Slate to hold its own against the $499 Apple iPad?

Apple Gearing Up For 27-inch Cinema Display And Xenon 5600 Mac Pro
March 19, 2010

Looks like Apple is gearing up to release some rather cool stuff that summer, as word is going around that Apple is ready to introduce its 2560 x 1440 resolution 27-inch LED-backlit Cinema Display, which is a rather nice upgrade from its current 24-inch offering. Apparently the 27-inch model has been developed by Apple for some moment now, but the fruity company was waiting for market prices to drop to a more fair level before launching the product.
Even juicier should be the news that a new Mac Pro is lined up to feature two Xenon 5600 hexacore chips from Intel. whether that’s too energetic for you (yeah, right), you can additionally go for the restricted chip Mac Pro which should sport clock speeds of 2.66GHz, 2.8GHz, 2.93GHz or 3.33GHz. There isn’t any mention of a Core i7 processor, but considering the Xenon 5600 being touted, chances are that we might not see the Core i7 being offered.
