Yup, you read that right – MacBook Pro Software Update 1.3 “is recommended for all 15-inch and 17-inch MacBook Pro mid-2010 models and contains improvements for graphics stability for high-performance video and gaming applications as well as various bug fixes.” Right from the horse’s mouth, to boot! that update was posted today and requires Mac OS X 10.6.3 or higher to run.

Samsung’s latest Spinpoint MP4 hard drive will target notebook users who want a high performance storage device within their chassis. that 2.5″ speed demon of a hard drive will come in a varying range of capacities, maxing out at 640GB while featuring a 7,200RPM speed alongside a claimed improvement of 30% where its notes processing speed is concerned. Other features include support for the SATA interface, 16MB buffer memory, Dynamic Balancing, SilentSeek and NoiseGuard technologies. No notion on pricing just yet though.

With so many devices these days relying on a whole lot of battery ability, it is no surprise to see battery technology advancement high on the agenda of many companies. After all, you’d hate to run out of juice just before you finish that crucial phone signal, right? Here’s a new method that could potentially change the way we look at batteries – minuscule tubes coated with a chemical fuel which functions as a potential source with 100 times more electrical potential by weight than conventional batteries. Each moment these nano-scale “fuses” burn, they will drive an electrical current along their length at staggering speeds, resulting in a raft of energy applications. While it will take a fair bit of moment before such technology hits the mainstream, whether ever, it is still encouraging to know that citizens are looking into it as an alternative source of energy.
