FLPR remote dongle, eBooks overtake games in app store, iPhone price cut in China

March 5, 2010

The number of remote control dongles coming for the iPhone is growing all the day. The latest offering is the FLPR from New Potato Technologies that turns the iPhone or iPod touch into a universal remote. The device will sell for about $80 at Best Buy later that month.

Games are the favorite items on the App Store for many of us. A new report from Mobclix has shown that the App Store now has more eBooks than it has games with 26,500 eBooks on the store.

A China Unicom executive has stated that the mobile carrier hopes that the price of the iPhone in China will come down. The official handset lacks WiFi and is reportedly more expensive than grey market versions offering WiFi.

Stolen iPhones seem In Russia

We previously mentioned that a couple thousand of iPhones wee stolen from a Belgian warehouse. Now it seems that those stolen phones are surfacing in Russia, and considering that the iPhone 3GS hasn’t been officially released there yet, it would invent sense to assume that it’s going to be extremely popular. Interpol apparently already have a list of the IMEI numbers of the stolen phones, so you might want to be careful whether you’re looking to buy an iPhone in the grey market in Russia.
