GPS Watch Description: This auction is for the sale of a used Garmin Edge 705 delux package computer. This package is the all inclusive one from Garmin that comes with heart rate strap, cadence sensor and sd card with US maps. The Edge 705 is the top of the line model that has everything you can want in a serious cycling/trainning computer. Supports the new Sport ANT + connection signal for the new power taps and SRM power meters. Features online mapping of your course via google earth showing temperature, humidity, wind, along with power, cadence, grade, heading, calories burned, elevation gain and speed. There are no other features that can be had with another cycling computer. It also supplies a virtual trainning partner. Has lithium ion batteries for 15 hours of use with no memory effect for early charging. 2D turn by turn maps just like your car GPS unit. I have used this GPS unit in new cities in a car and it works great, you can even walk with it in a new city and it will guide you so it is like having 3 GPS units in one. Has off road elvation maps. Can be used without sensors since it detects the speed via satellite so moving this unit from bike to bike is simple with no reprogramming. I have two of these units and this one for sale is only 3 months old, it does have some minor scuffs from every day use nothing you would not put on yourself from taking the computer on and off the bike. Comes with everything from factory; the heart rate strap has never been worn and the cadence unit was never put on. MSRP is 650.00 save yourself some serious bucks on a lightly used unit. Remember there are three different packages to the Garmin Edge 705. Make sure when comparing prices that the SD card with the maps is included since it is a 200 dollar upgrade to the regular Garmin 705. Many sellers will list that it is capable of using the sd card but don’t sell the card with the maps on it. This auction is for the top of the line unit for cycling that has everything you need. Other packages without sensors and maps are below 400.00 dollars. I will ship via USPS priority mail so you will have it in 3 days or less. Will not ship internationally or to Hawaii. Will only ship to mainland USA. Good luck bidding on a great all inclusive cycling computer that does literally everything. I will only take Paypal for payment thank you. http://www.rei.com/product/766260 Preloaded with City Navigator North America NT microSD card, unit provides turn-by-turn directions and routing for the U.S., Canada and PR Garmin’s newest biking GPS unit expands navigation functions and adds wireless communication options Highly sensitive GPS receiver tracks your position where less sophisticated units will not, providing continuous reliable navigation Expand unit’s memory and mapping software options with microSD cards (sold separately) ANT+ Sport wireless technology transfers speed, cadence and heart rate data from sensors to unit Wireless technology transmits information to other Edge 705 units, allowing you to share workout data with riding partners Built-in barometric altimeter provides accurate elevations and maintains a profile of your ascents and descents Customizable cycle computer shows eight different cycling data fields, including speed, distance, time functions and pedaling cadence Heart rate monitor works from signals generated by a soft, comfortable chest strap; data is stored with each track point for post-workout analysis Virtual Partner™ brings fun to training by letting you ”race” a virtual competitor You can also race against a recorded course to match or beat previously set speeds at every point along the way Auto Pause™ pauses the training timer when you decelerate below a specified speed and resumes once you’ve regained targeted speed Auto Lap™ triggers a lap every time you pass a specified location or travel a preset distance Compatible with Garmin Connect™: an online community for workout data sharing and analysis Self-calibrating cadence and speed sensor works without the use of wires that can get caught on brush and compromise the lean look of your bike Compatible with third party ANT+ Sport-enabled devices which measure power—torque and cadence for each leg at the pedals The unit measures 4.3 x 2 x 1 in.; display area is 1.37 x 1.71 in., and 176 x 220 pixels; screen is readable in daylight Waterproof design; unit is submersible to 1m for 30 minutes (do not operate submerged) Rechargeable internal lithium polymer battery lasts 15 hours with typical use Deluxe bundle includes heart rate monitor, speed/cadence sensor, data card with street maps and bike mounts Also includes USB cable, AC charger, CD owner’s manual and reference guide
GPS Watch Description: Garmin Edge 305 in good condition and selling cheap. The catch? This unit has the unfortunate “separation” issue that causes the unit to reset intermittently. This problem is quite common – Google for it and don’t forget to ask before buying a used unit. Garmin will repair/replace it for around 69 bucks. However(!), it has worked 100% fine for me for the past year. My solution? A simple piece of tape wrapped around the unit fixes it… it prevents the two halves of the unit from vibrating separately… leading to the reset syndrome. It doesn’t look great but, who cares, it works and it works well. I’m confident enough that I am offering a 7-day inspection period to guarantee it functions properly, as advertised. If it works fine, why am I selling? I upgraded to the 705 for color maps and power meter usage. No heartrate monitor strap or speed/cadence sensor. I will include a handlebar mount if I can find one.

chromeTouch, an add-on that will help you navigate through Google Chrome by dragging or flicking any part of a web page, brings the smartphone web experience right to your tablet or touch-sensitive display computer. It is nice to see chromeTouch throw in additional settings that makes it easier for use on devices with small screen real estate including tiny tablets and netbooks, with options to hide the scrollbars altogether. Looks pretty neat, but will it catch on with the masses?

It’s hard to imagine that last year we had barely a whiff of a tablet device and that year you can’t seem to walk into a store that isn’t trying to shove some sort of tablet device down your throat. Next up in the oh-so-crowded tablet universe is the Mastone Lifepad 3G. In terms of specifications it’s certainly impressive, offering a 1GHz Freescale processor, 512MB of RAM, a 3G module and Google’s Android 2.1 OS. That being said, it takes more than just raw hardware potential to manufacture a device successful, and we’re looking forward to see what that tablet can do to set it apart from the rest of the pack.

It’s actually quite interesting to see how Google and Apple seem to mirror each others’ actions. After Google acquired 3D desktop manager BumpTop, a patent filing from Apple has surfaced showing that Apple is looking to the possibility of 3D widgets on its OS dashboard in the future. These 3D widgets would be able to supply different features, attributes or functionalities depending on which side of the widget you visit on. Users will be able to lift and rotate the widgets in order to expose these functions. Such a design would probably be quite popular considering that everybody is moving towards 3D nowadays.

Feel that your Google Nexus One is a wee bit too slow after a while? Well, here’s a cheap (nay, free!) method of making certain you are able to throw in an additional 21MB of RAM into said smartphone without requiring a hardware upgrade. All you need to do is tweak the kernel and remap memory usage to free up a bunch of resources, which will involve a custom kernel image. Pretty neat, eh? Unlike computers these days, 21MB of additional RAM does speed up a handset pretty noticeably.

HTC seems to be enjoying quite a bit of success in the UK. After the Nexus One was reportedly sold out by there, now word is going around that the recently released black HTC Desire on Orange has plus been sold out. Considering that the HTC Desire is more or less the same phone as the Nexus One, sans the Google branding, it’s no surprise that it has got off to a flying start in the UK. Were you able to get hold of the HTC Desire before it was sold out in the UK?

Zhuo Nisi Technology has a spanking new 7″ netbook that will be powered by an ARM-based processor that runs at a clock speed of 1GHz which ought to be more than decent abundant for your everyday use. The display itself is touchscreen sensitive, allowing you to fold down by the keyboard to use it in a tablet anatomy factor whether that is your cup of tea. Just don’t expect it to be that versatile as a Windows-powered device, considering the Google Android operating system has yet to reach full maturity. Folks who are on a budget can always consider the standard netbook version that lacks touchscreen capability. Do you think devices like these will ever see the light Stateside, or will they remain a China specialty?
