Android-powered Neofonie WePad Tablet
March 21, 2010

It looks like there is going to be another entrant into the increasingly-crowded tablet market, and that moment it's the WePad from Neofonie. Despite it sounding like a plural version of Apple’s iPad, that tablet obviously isn’t related to Apple’s latest darling. Word is that the WePad will be powered by Google’s android, and will even be able to access a WePad AppStore. While there isn’t any pricing knowledge just yet, specifications of the device are available, which include:

Samsung Tablet To Sport Android And 4G Connectivity?
March 20, 2010
This is still unconfirmed at the moment, but word is going around that the recently mentioned Samsung tablet might be powered by Google’s Android OS instead of some edition of Microsoft’s Windows 7. To form the deal even juicier, apparently the device could feature calling via a headset, possibly with some implementation of VoIP, 3G and perhaps even 4G connectivity. Nothing is set in stone at the moment, so we’ll have to keep an eye on that. whether it were up to you, what specifications would you give the Samsung tablet?

Adobe Flash 10.1 Teased On Google’s Nexus One
March 20, 2010
We still need to wait for some moment before we’ll be able to get Adobe’s Flash 10.1 on Android 2.x devices, but that doesn’t stop videos of folks who have managed to get Adobe’s Flash 10.1 running on Google’s Nexus One from surfacing. As can be seen from the video (after the jump), Flash seems to be running rather comfortably on the Nexus One, and is nearly as good as on the desktop, albeit with a little bit of lag, but that’s probably due to the 3G connection used to stream the video. Is getting Flash on your mobile device a top priority for you?

Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10 Unboxed
March 20, 2010
Sony Xperia’s X10 might be just around the corner, but that doesn’t form any unboxing event of the phone less exciting. Now a video of Sony Ericsson’s upcoming flagship phone being unboxed has surfaced online. The phone is still powered by Google’s Android 1.6, which is obviously older than the current Android 2.1, and Sony Ericsson has done a good job to pretty up the OS. Rumors are hinting that Sony Ericsson might be updating the OS version on that phone, so there might be hope of getting Android 2.1 on that device just yet. Have you decided to pick that phone by Apple’s iPhone, or do you still think that the iPhone or Google’s Nexus One is more appealing? Video of the phone being unboxed after the jump.

Opera Download Numbers Double Thanks To The Introduction Of Choice Screen
March 19, 2010

The folks by at Opera must be smiling from ear to ear after Microsoft was forced to introduce the Windows Web Browser Choice Screen in Europe. The Web Browser Choice Screen prompts users whether they want to download competing browsers such as Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, and Opera etc. Now Opera is reporting that the number of downloads has more than doubled across the European continent, with some countries even indicating that the download rate has tripled. According to the stats released, 53% of the downloads came from the Choice Screen, and considering that the Choice Screen was rolled out in early March, it certainly provides an interesting twist in the browser wars.

SayCool Multi-touch Tablet Is Powered By Windows XP
March 19, 2010

Most tablet’s going around now are powered by Windows 7 or Google’s Android OS, but the SayCool tablet seems intent to distance itself from the pack by opting for the operating system that Microsoft can’t seem to kill off – Windows XP. Windows 7 is obviously more touch-friendly than Windows XP, but there isn’t any mention of why the decision to go with Windows XP was made. The display is said to be a capacitive one, hinting that multi-touch capabilities are present, but to what extent was not elaborated. Could multi-touch only be supported on specific applications, or will it work with browsers like Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox etc? Aside from the operating system, the tablet itself should be pretty standard fare, sporting GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 3G. There isn’t any mention of whether the SayCool tablet will be making its way to the US, though.

T-Mobile USA To Offer iPhone In Late 2010 Or Early 2011?
March 19, 2010
According to a recent interview, RenĂ© Obermann, CEO of T-Mobile USA parent company Deutsche Telekom, has mentioned that T-Mobile USA might start offering the iPhone as soon as late 2010, or early 2011. While the carrier’s current focus is obviously on Google’s Android OS, getting the iPhone on its network would be a great move, considering the huge appeal of Apple’s mobile phone. Does that mean that Apple’s exclusivity deal with AT&T is be going down the drain? Are you looking forward to T-Mobile offering the iPhone, or do you think that Android devices are the way to go?
