A forum discussion has sparked a rumor concerning a hardware update for the Alienware M11X gaming laptop. whether you are not familiar with that model, it is a sub $900 laptop that uses an entry level main processor coupled with a relatively fast graphics processor. The combo makes the Alienware a good gaming computer, for a relatively low price.

According to the source, a forum poster that allegedly has “inside” urls with Alienware, the update would happen in the June/July timeframe. The M11X would get new a Core ix CPU, NVIDIA’s optimus technology. We’re pretty certain that the M11X would eventually be bumped to a Core ix, so the question the really “when”. We’ll keep an eye on that. The discussion was spotted on notebookreview and was republished by engadget and others.

While the PS3 is a very good gaming machine, the built-in web browser is certainly nothing to shout about. Granted the PS3 wasn’t designed to replace your computer as a web browsing machine, but it wouldn’t hurt to have a better browser. Would going around the Net is that Sony is in talks with Mozilla to port Firefox by to the PS3. Of course, that is still firming in the rumor bin at the moment, but we’ll have to sit back and see how that works out. Stay tuned!
