Google Makes It Easier To Migrate From Microsoft Exchange To Google Apps

If you’re currently running Microsoft Exchange in your office and have been toying with the view of migrating to Google Apps, but the pain of migration might have stopped you, Google has just made it easier for you to do so. The search engine giant has released a new migration tool that will help you migrate your company’s e mail, calendar, and contact info from Microsoft Exchange to Google Apps. The good news is that it just takes a few steps, it’s efficient, fast and (apparently) painless. Users can even continue to use Microsoft Exchange during the process of migration. Google Apps Migration for Microsoft Exchange currently works with Exchange 2003 and 2007 and both on-premise and hosted Exchange. So will you be moving to Google Apps, or do you still want to hold on to Microsoft Exchange?

Facebook Beats Google For The First Time

Facebook Beats Google For The First Time

Beating Google at anything is good news for any company, but dethroning Google as the most visited site in the US is certainly a feat that any company would trumpet. Who was the culprit? Well, it should be no surprise to anyone to take in that it’s Facebook. According to industry tracker Hitwise, Facebook enjoyed a healthy 185 percent increase in visits, while Google only got a 9 percent increase. That being said, the tracker did not include Google property sites such as Gmail, YouTube and Google Maps. It looks like Google has many challenges ahead of it, what with Facebook, Apple, Twitter and Microsoft all looking to dethrone the search engine giant on the Web.

Google Nexus One Trademark Refused

Google Nexus One Trademark Refused

It seems that despite Google seeming to be able to do just anything, the company still does hit occasional roadblocks. Apparently Google’s attempt to trademark the Nexus One has run into a speed bump, as the US Trademark Office believes that consumers will be confused with the other Nexus trademark owned by Integra Telecom. whether Google doesn’t decide to reply to the refusal, soon after the search engine giant might have to buy the rights to the name, or change the name of the phone itself (not nice). What do you think?

Design by Community project by Nokia

Nokia has a grade new project known as Design by Community, where cellphone users are more than welcome to help the Finnish telecommunications giant create a “smartphone concept device of the future.” Basically, you are free to choose how a Nokia smartphone of the future would look like, ranging from display size to the operating system, construction materials, connectivity options, camera features and overall size and shape. Depending on the collective design choices, the Nokia Design team will come up with a 3D render of the final smartphone come that May. Hmmm, have they run out of ideas that they will need to get a democratic consensus of what goes into the next Nokia phone?

Google 99.9 Percent certain To Shut Down Google.cn?

Google 99.9 Percent certain To Shut Down Google.cn?

By now you’ve probably heard of Google’s spat with the Chinese government, particularly the bit where Google threatened to pull out of China. According to the latest rumblings on the Web, Google is preparing to close Google.cn. Aside from that, the search engine giant is unwilling to hand by management of Google.cn to a local entity. Despite that, other Chinese operations owned by Google will continue to go on, including a research centre in Beijing and a sales team that sells advertising on the Chinese-language Google.com search service (based outside of China) to advertisers inside the country. Do you think that the closure of Google.cn (if it materializes) is a big deal, or inconsequential to you?

Giant LEGO Sculpture Of The BlackBerry Tour 9630

Giant LEGO Sculpture Of The BlackBerry Tour 9630

Nobody can resist giant LEGO sculptures, and next up we’ve got a giant BlackBerry Tour 9360 made out of LEGO pieces. That on its own would be a great feat, but the fact that the sculptor, Nathan Sawaya, managed to build it around a flat-screen LCD TV just makes it so much cooler. Of course, you won’t be able to send or receive emails with that, but you could probably figure out a way to hook your computer up to that giant LEGO BlackBerry. Have you built any giant LEGO sculptures before?

O Kitchen Concept Curls Up Into A Ball

O Kitchen Concept Curls Up Into A Ball

If you had to reinvent your kitchen, how would you like it to look? whether you want food for thought (pun intended), check out the O Kitchen, which looks like some kind of futuristic compact kitchen. When closed, it’s like a giant 7-foot sphere in your living room, but open it up, and you’re presented with a compact kitchen with a dishwasher, microwave, sink and refrigerator. That being said, it’s hard to imagine anybody “closing” such a kitchen, after all, would you want to open something that big in order to grab a cold beverage from the fridge? Still, it looks undeniably cool, though. Picture of the O Kitchen closed after the break.
