Sky in the UK will be offering free broadband with speeds hitting 20Mbps, thanks to its free Sky Everyday Lite package. In order to qualify for that mouth watering package, all you need to do is be a Sky TV subscriber as well as sign up for the Sky Talk phone service at the same duration, although the free 20Mbps broadband service has a monthly download cap of 2GB. No big deal whether you are a regular web surfer, but for those who stream videos and audio round the clock will probably give that a pass. Expect the Sky Everyday Lite package to roll out that June 1st.

Considering the troubles that Palm is going through at the moment and the fact that Radioshack is keen to dump its Palm inventory, it shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise to see that Sprint is now offering its Palm Pixi for free via its online portal. The catch (as there always is one) is that you’ll have to agree to a two-year contract, which probably isn’t too poor whether you’re a faraway term Sprint customer anyways. whether you need help deciding whether the Palm Pixi is the phone for you, why not check out our comprehensive Palm Pixi review?

Looks like being famous does have its uses. Gray Powell, the engineer who lost a prototype of the upcoming iPhone 4G, might be in hot soup with Apple, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t welcome elsewhere. In a Twitter post, Nicola Lange, Lufthansa’s director of marketing and customer relations for the Americas, has offered Gray Powell free business class tickets to Munich, which is an obvious reference to the fact that the phone was lost at a German beer bar in California. Seems like a great PR stunt, no?

Apparently Palm isn’t the only one who is trying to ramp up app development for its mobile application store, as word is going around that Google is actively trying to attract iPhone app developers to develop apps for the Android platform. It seems that a representative from the Android Advocacy Group contacted Texts From Last Night’s creator to set up a relationship, as well as ship a free Nexus One phone, regardless of whether he picked up the project or not. that is quite a contrasting move, as Apple rejected the Texts From Last Night app from its App Store before that. There isn’t any indication of how widespread that campaign is, but whether you’re a developer and whether you’re offered a free phone, would you take it?

Do you always use the gym in the hotel you’re staying at to keep fit? The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Copenhagen is trying to offer you more incentive to exercise, as the hotel has hooked up a few exercise bikes to a generator. Guests who are interested can pedal for about fifteen minutes, generating 10Wh of electricity, and earning themselves a $36 meal voucher. Just to keep in touch with the latest tech, these bikes plus feature iPhones attached to the handlebars, displaying the amount of capability being generated. Aside from the exercise bikes, the hotel plus has installed 2,400 solar panels and uses low-energy lighting and a groundwater-based cooling and heating system, boosting its eco-credentials.

Always wanted to pick up the BlackBerry Bold 9000, but never got around doing so due to the procrastination bug? AT&T has just the thing for you – the Bold 9000 which will be made available for free, although you will need to sign up for a 2-year contract. that is not a new unit though since it will be refurbished, but heck, at least you save on the $199 mandatory whether you want a spanking new unit. No view on just how refurbished the devices are, but folks who don’t mind a second hand smartphone that has undergone OS upgrades and device wipes ought to give it a shot.

Based on all the concept designs that pop up from day to moment, the vehicles of the future will all be eco-friendly, so whether you’ve been dreaming of a fire-breathing monster car, you’ll probably have to build one yourself. Designer Ricardo Fedrizzi has come up with a rather pretty design for his Bug electric car, which obviously has taken some hints from Volkswagen. The design calls for use of recyclable and renewable materials, such as polymers with a load of vegetable fiber, keeping the weight down. In that design, the glass windows and windshield have additionally been made lighter and safer, using resilient polycarbonate, though it’s worth checking whether it might bring about safety concerns. whether everything goes according to plan, that vehicle will be a zero-emission machine that can be manufactured at an affordable price.

If you are using Google Apps, that could be of interest: Memeo Connect Reader for iPad has been announced earlier today. As its name indicated, the application connects to your Google explanation and syncs files in popular formats like PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Jpg etc (all the formats natively supported by the iPad OS). Once the files are on the iPad, they can be looked at in all their glory. The viewing demo was working flawlessly – check the video in the extended post.

You won’t be able to edit the documents, but that’s in line with our assessment that the iPad is primarily a media consuming device, even whether can be used for casual updates. Memeo Connect Reader provides a different access to your documents stored in Google Apps and considering it’s free, there’s really no reason not to try it (the app has been approved by Apple already). whether you did not know, Memeo additionally has a suite of software that can supply the same functionalities (and more!) to computers.
