iPad Description: New In Box 16GB Apple iPad with Wi-Fi (no 3g) New In Box 100% Authentic Factory Unlocked Apple A4 Processor with iOS 4 (100% Free Software Updates From iTunes) 16GB Built-In Flash Memory Built-In 802.11n Wi-Fi Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR Up to 10 Hours of Battery Life 9.7″ Multi-Touch, High-Resolution, LED Backlit Display 1 Year Limited Factory Warranty No 3G on This Model – Thousands of Apps Made Specifically for the iPad – Plus the iPad can run the majority of the 200,000+ Apps for the iPhone & iPod Touch – even the ones you already have. Watch the iPad Video Watch the TV Ad / Commercial Watch the iPad Guided Tours iPad – The Best Way to Experience the Web, Email, Photos & Videos All of the built-in apps on iPad were designed from the ground up to take advantage of the large Multi-Touch screen and advanced capabilities of iPad. And they work in any orientation. So you can do things with these apps that you can’t do on any other device. It’s Hard to Believe We Could Fit So Many Great Ideas Into Something So Thin A large, high-resolution LED-backlit IPS display. An incredibly responsive Multi-Touch screen. And an amazingly powerful Apple-designed chip. All in a design that’s thin and light enough to take anywhere. iPad isn’t just the best device of its kind. It’s a whole new kind of device. NOTE: 3G technology / capability is NOT included on this model nor is any 3g service! For 3g capable iPads, please see my other auctions that specify they are 3g in the title(s). What’s Included In The Box: iPad Dock Connector to USB Cable 10W USB Power Adapter Documentation Thin & Light One of the first things you’ll notice about iPad is how thin and light it is. The screen is 9.7 inches measured diagonally. So overall, it’s slightly smaller than a magazine. At just 1.5 pounds and 0.5 inch thin, you can use it anywhere. And a slight curve to the back makes it easy to pick up and comfortable to hold. LED Backlit IPS Display The high-resolution, 9.7-inch LED-backlit IPS display on iPad is remarkably crisp and vivid. Which makes it perfect for web browsing, watching movies, or viewing photos. With iPad, there is no up or down. It’s designed to show off your content in portrait or landscape orientation with every turn. And because it uses a display technology called IPS (in-plane switching), it has a wide, 178° viewing angle. So you can hold it almost any way you want and still get a brilliant picture, with excellent color and contrast. Multi-Touch Screen The Multi-Touch screen on iPad is based on the same revolutionary technology on iPhone. But the technology has been completely re-engineered for the larger iPad surface, making it extremely precise and responsive. So whether you’re zooming in on a map, flicking through your photos, or deleting an email, iPad responds with incredible accuracy. And it does just what you want it to. Up to 10 Hours of Battery Life To maximize battery life, Apple engineers took the same lithium-polymer battery technology they developed for Mac notebook computers and applied it to the iPad. As a result, you can use iPad for up to 10 hours while surfing the web on Wi-Fi, watching videos, or listening to music. Performance The A4 chip inside iPad was custom-designed by Apple engineers to be extremely powerful yet extremely power efficient. The performance is unlike anything you’ve ever seen on a touch-based device. Which makes iPad fantastic for everything from productivity apps to games. At the same time, the A4 chip is so power efficient that it helps iPad get up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge. And iPad is available with a choice of 16GB, 32GB or 64GB of flash storage (this particular auction is for the 16GB model) giving you lots of room for your photos, movies, music, apps, and more. Wireless With built-in 802.11n, iPad takes advantage of the fastest Wi-Fi networks. It automatically locates available Wi-Fi networks, which you can join with a few taps. iPad also comes with Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, letting you connect to devices like wireless headphones or the Apple Wireless Keyboard. 3g Also Available (Not Included – See Other Auctions for 3g Version) iPad is also available in a 3g model with super fast data speeds up to 7.2 Mbps. So if you’re traveling or you happen to be somewhere without a Wi-Fi network, you can still get a fast connection for surfing the web, downloading email, or getting directions. Connectivity The dock connector port on the bottom of iPad allows you to dock and charge it. It also lets you connect to accessories like the iPad Camera Connection Kit and the iPad Keyboard Dock. You’ll find many accessories designed to be compatible with the dock connector port. Audio The powerful built-in speaker produces rich, full sound perfect for watching a movie or listening to music. iPad also comes with a headphone jack and a built-in microphone. Safari iPad is the best way to experience the web. View whole pages in portrait or landscape on the large Multi-Touch screen. And let your fingers do the surfing. E-Mail There’s nothing like the Mail app on iPad. With a split-screen view and expansive onscreen keyboard, it lets you see and touch your email in ways you never could before. Photos A vivid LED-backlit IPS display makes viewing photos on iPad extraordinary. Open albums with a tap. Flip through your pictures one by one. Or play a slideshow and share your photos. Videos The 9.7-inch high-resolution screen makes iPad perfect for watching HD movies, TV shows, podcasts, music videos and more. YouTube With the YouTube app designed specifically for iPad, videos are even easier to find. And on the amazing iPad display, they’re more fun to watch. Especially in HD iPod Reach out and touch your songs. View your album art full-size. iPad makes music look as good as it sounds. iTunes Millions of songs, thousands of movies and TV shows, and so much more. Browsing and buying are just a tap away. App Store You’ll find more than 200,000 apps on the App Store, and iPad can run almost all of them. Including everything from games to productivity apps. iBooks Reading is a joy on iPad. Text looks crisp and bright. Pages turn with a flick. And you can buy new books from the iBookstore. Just download the free iBooks app to get started. Note: iBooks is only available in the U.S. Maps See more of the world with iPad. Find locations easier than ever with street view, satellite view, or new terrain view — all using Google services.
Solid-state drives are becoming more and more popular nowadays, and Intel apparently has some big plans for SSDs that holiday season. Come the fourth quarter Intel is planning to introduce drives that offer capacities larger than what is currently offered. The chip giant is busy working on the more efficient 25nm MLC NAND flash memory, which can offer capacities such as 160GB, 300GB and 600GB, which should more or less replace the company’s existing 34nm X25-M range. Intel should also be coming up with a high capacity 1.8-inch version that is capable of hitting the 300GB mark as well. Are you looking forward to the day where laptop hard drives will be completely replaced by SSDs?

Speculation is mounting that the upcoming release of Apple’s iPhone 4G might cause another shortage of flash memory in the market. With Apple expected to ship a good 40 million iPhones that year, which is a significant increase from 25 million a year back, there does look like there could be a shortage. To compose matters worse, Apple is expected to ship about 7-8 million iPads that year too, which will put another dent in the amount of supplies. Apple is already commonly regarded as the loner largest consumer of flash memory in the world, since it uses built-in memory in its devices such as the iPhone, iPad and iPods while other manufacturers rely on removable cards.

The DataWind Ubisurfer mini laptop aims to be different from the rest since it is not only an affordable portable computing machine, it plus sports a free mobile Web connection – now how about that! Folks living in the UK will be able to bring one home for around £160 (translated to $243), where it is accompanied by up to 30 hours of free Web access monthly. that updated model will replace the Linux-based operating system with Windows CE 6.0, while shipping with SoftMaker Office for your mobile productivity needs. The hardware remains pretty much the same though with a 7″ 800 x 480 resolution display, 128MB RAM and 1GB of flash memory. It surfs via Wi-Fi and GPRS connectivity – woe to whoever that relies on the latter! whether 30 hours per month isn’t suitable to satisfy you, you can always fork out more once the plateau has been breached.

Looks like the folks by at the FCC didn’t want to keep the details of the iPad’s innards all to themselves, as it had published the iPad teardown pictures. From the photos, you’ll be able to see the iPad’s sculpted aluminum casing, as well as the chips. Considering that the iPad touts a 10-hour battery life, it shouldn’t be too surprising to see that there are two large lithium-ion battery packs inside it, while the logic board of the device itself is rather tiny. whether you want to further analyze the details of the chips used, the folks by at iFixit used the pictures to further identify the components, such as the Apple A4 processor, Toshiba flash memory and Broadcom chips. It’s nice of the FCC to publish these pictures to the public, isn’t it? particularly since most of us won’t be taking a shiny new iPad apart.

There are signs that point toward an OLED display, although thanks to the availability of Windows Phone 7 Series minimum requirements does propose at least 256MB RAM, 8GB of flash memory and DirectX9 acceleration.
Just when you thought that netbooks and Mobile Net Devices (MIDs) were the smallest category mobile computing machines out there, along comes Sun ability Technology with their, well, device which falls under no man’s land. After all, it comes with a 4.8″ touchscreen display at 800 x 480 resolution, a QWERTY keyboard, 512MB RAM, flash memory, Wi-Fi connectivity and a battery life which is good for up to 2 hours. Tipping the scales at 1.8 pounds, the QWERTY keyboard looks rather redundant since it isn’t large decent for comfortable touch typing, but is more suited for a pair of thumbs. What is that, a thigh book?

Corsair, a well known make leader when it comes to flash memory is back with the Force Series SSDs that tout outstanding SATA II performance thanks to an innovative SSD processor technology courtesy of SandForce Inc. When used in tandem with MLC flash memory, the Corsair Force Series of SSDs can hit an impressive 280MB/s read and 260MB/s write speeds, respectively, with the latter being extremely impressive. With the SandForce DuraClass Technology implemented, one is able to enjoy unparalleled write endurance and error correction features. Interested parties can check out the Force Series of SSDs within a fortnight’s day for a yet undisclosed price.
