Sony PS3 3D firmware update coming that summer

According to John Koller, director of hardware marketing for SCEA, the PS3 console looks set to ride the 3D wave that year by incorporating 3D-supporting firmware update so that Sony's family of living room entertainment products will play nice with each other, particularly the recently announced 3D-capable Bravia TVs at CES 2010. It would be interesting to see whether gamers will adopt 3D gaming as fast as Sony would like them to, after all, doing so would mean selling even more TVs, right?

PSP firmware update 6.20 offers extras

Nice to know that the latest firmware update 6.20 for the Sony PSP will introduce an additional column in the XMB called “Extras.” Under that column lies the “Digital Comics” category that will kick off in December when Sony starts to roll out digital comic books via the Playstation Store. Alongside that addition to energize little ones to read more, Sony plus increased the potency of their compatibility with Media Go software, enabling users to view videos and listen to audio playlists created within Media Go.

PS3 Units Can Support 3D Via Firmware Update

Could be all be gaming on the PS3 in the future with 3D stereoscopic technology? Well, according to Sony, it seems like that’s what the future will be like, and your current PS3 can support it with a firmware update. Sony is aiming to lead the 3D market and will be offering 3D-specific tools to developers making games on its platform. Now we’ll have to see what Nintendo and Microsoft plan to do about 3D technology.
