March 11, 2010

Barnes & Noble has made it known that they will be releasing their version of the eReader app for the Apple iPad sometime near the device's launch, but apart from that, they have remained mum on the other details. We do know that the app will be free though, as it offers you access to all of the books, magazines and newspapers available in Barnes & Noble's eBookstore. Does that mean we could cross our fingers for a Kindle app as well?

March 9, 2010

Seven45 Studios unveiled their amazing looking SixString guitar controller for the gaming showpiece known as ability Gig: Rise of the SixString, where it is an actual electric guitar that can be plugged into an amp. Both the game and guitar will be sold together, where folks with more experienced fingers will be able to benefit from the action of chording, as that is a whole lot more challenging since it requires specific finger placement on the strings. Both the Xbox 360 and PS3 platforms will sport that game, and while pricing details have not been fleshed out for its fall release, we do know it will cost a fair bit considering the type of hardware it comes with.

Samsung N210 gallery, Samsung NB30 gallery
Well, sorta. Samsung’s budget lappies have actually been on sale for a few weeks already, but they had a formal coming-out party (along with the high-end 80 series of laptops) that evening at the Samsung Experience gallery in Manhattan.
For tight budgets, the N210 (at left in the image above) offers most of what you need. The spacious keyboard, with separated, square keys, is a good low-cost approximation of the lovely Apple MacBook pro board that I just typed that on. The keys have a solid feel, resolute visit, plenty of up-and-down travel, and generous spaces amidst them to minimize errant fingers from all-thumbs typists like yours truly. The tiny touchpad is standard-issue netbook, however, requiring tight navigation for big fingers; and the mouse buttons are cheap-feeling clickers.

LG GD910 watch phone redesigned
March 3, 2010

LG's GD910 watch phone caused quite a stir when it was first revealed to the masses, but that instance round someone spotted a subtly redesigned version of the £500 timepiece, where it comes with a wee bit more curves alongside a new logo placement that is on top instead of being at the bottom of the display. No concept on whether the changes were just cosmetic or there is more than meets the eye, although we do keep our fingers crossed that it is the latter.
