The search engine giant has updated Google Maps for mobile to offer voice search for your Windows Mobile and Symbian S60 smartphones. So instead of having to fiddle with your keypad, you can just hit a button and state your destination to the phone. You’ll even be able to ask it for a specific address, retail outlet, or even a type of place such as a coffee shop. Not too poor, eh?

The lengths that some folks will go to in order to achieve success in online gaming is amazing, and sometimes you just can’t help but applaud them for their effort. The setup pictured above was put together by Zhek Kromtor, and it’s a rig that allows him to play multiple sessions of EVE Online at the same duration, 12 of them to be exact, thanks to the multi-mouse and multi-keyboard setup. The funny story is that apparently he got banned from EVE considering they thought he was using software macros to fiddle with the game, but that setup should be within the game’s terms of service, however insane it looks. Would you go to such lengths for online gaming?

What will the intelligent folks of that world cram Twitter into next? It seems like home appliances are popular, and that would probably explain why we’ve found a Twittering kettle, or Twettle as you might have it. The Twettle sports Wi-Fi, ensuring that it will be able to connect to your home Wi-Fi. Aside from Wi-Fi, the Twettle plus offers a small display, so that you can enter the network password whether your home Wi-Fi is encrypted, as well as making it easy for you to enter your Twitter details. Finally, the Twettle additionally has an API (application programming interface), allowing you to fiddle with it and add functionality whether you so wish to do so. You could do some fancy stuff like switching the Twettle on via Twitter Direct letter, or even set the Twettle to boil at a lower temperature. So what’s next? A Twittering toothbrush perhaps?

We were first blown away by James Bond’s heroics when he drove a BMW 7 Series using his Sony Ericsson handset, but that moment round it is no fiction – Dave Phipps has come up with an iPod touch software which will be able to control his 1968 Pontiac GTO. that is made possible thanks to the RedEye system which can remotely control the car’s ignition, radio, doors and aothers with an iPod Touch. Just construct certain your iPod touch has ample juice to fiddle with all the settings, but good thing there is always a manual override for it.

Word is going around that Facebook could be examining the usage of QR codes on its site. In case you aren’t familiar, QR codes are like a 2D bar cipher for your mobile phone, allowing your phone to easily scan the QR cipher and get the knowledge. It seems that Facebook might use these QR codes for profile and status urls, which would probably come in handy whether you fiddle with Facebook a lot on your mobile phone (don’t we all?) Facebook hasn’t officially confirmed or denied that feature just yet, so it certainly seems like there could be a possibility of seeing that feature sometime in the future. whether it were to be implemented, it’ll be interesting to see how it will be used. An example would be businesses could use it to point customers to Facebook pages by embedding the QR codes in TVs and print ads.

We’ve already seen many different cradles for Apple’s iPhone, but you have to confess that the Spiderpodium does seem to stand out from the others, not least considering it has eight bendable spider-like legs. You’ll be able to bend the legs to hold up your iPhone on various surfaces, probably even the handlebars of your bike, not that we’re advocating you fiddle with your iPhone while riding it. The Spiderpodium is currently up for preorder for £14.99 ($23 USD) and it will be available on March 29th.

Do you dislike the multi-colored live wallpaper that Google’s Nexus one offers? whether it’s just a different color scheme that you’re looking for, some folks have managed to fiddle with the phone and get it to use only Cyanogen Blue. certain, it won’t turn your phone into the coolest phone on the block, but whether you’re into customization, thereupon every little bit counts right? At the very least, you’ll be different from your other Nexus One-touting friends. Funnily abundant, it’s called “Sexy Nexus” in the Color Scheme setting of the wallpaper list.

Want to plant your own vegetables or herbs, but don’t know how to? whether that concept fridge becomes a reality, you just might have an easy way to do so. The designer worked with Green Fortune & Whirlpool to come up with a refrigerator that allows you to pop lettuce plants and herbs purchased from the supermarket into the Kitchen Garden system, prolonging its life and allowing it to grow. It’ll be automatically watered, and light will be provided. whether you want to do it from the ground up, you could fiddle with a few of the fridge settings, and even grow it from a seed, all the way up to a plant, ready for you to construct salad with.

The folks by at fuRo (Future Robotics Technology Center) have come up with the WIND (Wireless Intelligent Networked Device), which is a wearable robot controller. So instead of having to fiddle with buttons, keyboards and joysticks, you’ll be able to wear that, and the sensors in the vest will translate your movements into commands that will wirelessly control a robot. The WIND uses a SiP (System in Package) chip, which offers the full functionality of a personal computer on a without semiconductor. whether you’re still wondering how all that is possible, you’ve got to see it to believe it.

There’s no denying that there are pros and cons to Apple’s iPad, but here’s one more positive point for it. whether you’re running Citrix XenDesktop or XenApp in the office, the iPad is going to be rather useful to you, thanks to its 1024 x 768 screen. At that resolution, it meets the minimum requirement for a good Citrix client, it’s cheaper than some Windows-based netbooks, and let’s not forget, most netbooks run at a lower resolution that the iPad. With that in place, you could effectively fiddle with your Windows 7 computer via your iPad while you’re on the go. Do note that we’re talking about remotely controlling your computer here, not installing Windows 7 on the iPad (though we’re certain many folks out there will try to achieve that). Could the iPad become the next big thing for IT professionals around the globe?
