[28 Apr 2010 | Comments Off on HTC Desire hits US Cellular that July | ]

The HTC Desire is going to reach on US Cellular that coming July, and while US Cellular operates on a CDMA network, we are pretty surprised to see the HTC Desire not appearing on larger CDMA players such Sprint or Verizon. Shame though, as we are pretty certain that the HTC Desire isn’t a slouch by any means, considering it comes with a 3.7? AMOLED touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, Wi-Fi connectivity, GPS navigation, full access to the Android Market and a microSD memory card slot. No …

[27 Apr 2010 | Comments Off on Eye-Fi Geo X2 SD memory card | ]

Eye-Fi has expanded its range of special SD memory cards with the latest model – the Geo X2. Judging by the name itself, you know that has something to do with navigation, where it offers 4GB of Class 6 photo and video storage capability, an “Endless Memory Mode”, and (drumroll please) self-moving geotagging support that is found in its more expensive brethren, although that one is a whole lot cheaper at $69.99 a pop. Any takers?

[27 Apr 2010 | Comments Off on Motorola relies on Skyhook Wireless now | ]

Motorola has decided to ditch Google’s Android location services with Skyhook Wireless instead, a company that hails from Boston, MA. that could be due to the less than accurate positioning info that plagued Google’s integrated system, making it a minus point for handset manufacturers and Android app developers. Motorola took the pro-active approach by looking to Skyhook Wireless, where their service merges with Wi-Fi hotspot triangulation, cell tower triangulation and GPS info in order to offer fast and accurate location knowledge. Guess we can look forward to upcoming Motorola phones, …

[25 Apr 2010 | Comments Off on Android to get Sirius XM app | ]

Android users who used to cast envious glances at iPod touch and iPhone users will be pleased to know that they will be getting the Sirius XM app sometime later that year, and it looks set to be more or less similar to the iPhone OS version, boasting 3G and Wi-Fi streaming support. Strangely suitable, Sirius XM seem to indicate that that app will be available only for the Droid and Nexus One, but we do hope they will extend its availability to other handsets as well.
