If you’re one of those folks who are really looking forward to the upcoming Nokia N8, which is still unannounced at that point in date, you might be a little disappointed. Eldar Murtazin, the person behind Mobile-Review, has managed to get his hands on a unit of the Nokia N8, and based on his feedback of the device, it doesn’t look like the N8 is going to entice iPhone or Android users anytime soon. The Symbian^3 OS that powers the phone might be something you’re looking forward to, but aside from features such as true multitasking and multiple home screens, there really isn’t very much to shout about. The technical specifications of the N8 which include a 12-megapixel shooter capable of 720p video recording and the glass multi-touch display are nice things to have, but probably aren’t adequate to invent you choose that phone by its competitors. Do you think Nokia can add anything to the N8 before it (possibly) arrives in mid-July to improve it?

While Google’s Nexus One is a good phone, it’s certainly not without its problems. That being said, quite a few Nexus One owners might be miffed at the response from one of Google’s staff on the support forums. When responding to convinced issues regarding a spotty 3G connection, the Google staff, Ry Guy, responded that they’re no longer investigating further engineering improvements at that instance. whether you’re having serious 3G connectivity issues with your Nexus One and got that response, how would you feel? The response from the forums mention:

“Hey guys, I’ve seen some recent speculation on that thread about an OTA to improve 3G connectivity and I want to give you an update on the situation. While we are continuing to monitor user feedback regarding the 3G performance on the Nexus One, we are no longer investigating further engineering improvements at that date. whether you are still experiencing 3G issues, we recommend that you try changing your location or even the orientation of your phone, as that may help in areas with weaker coverage. -Ry Guy”

The motion feedback MP3 player is a concept that aims to energize a higher level of activity during a workout, where it relies on a SparkFun MP3 Trigger , Parallax PIR Motion Sensor , and an ioBridge IO-204 Controller. Whenever the PIR sensor detects any motion, the IO-204 will send serial commands to the MP3 player in order to raise or lower the volume. Apart from that, the IO-204 controller additionally enables one to input log any activity whenever it is connected to the Net. You know Newton and his laws – a body in motion stays in motion, and that MP3 player concept plays on that premise.

Have you seen those Wi-Fi detecting T-shirts before? Well, the folks by at Instructables have come up with a way for you to turn that into a Wi-Fi detecting bumper sticker. It would certainly be more practical to keep it inside your car (so that you know when there is a Wi-fi signal), but you could always stick it facing outwards at the back of your car (as pictured), so the person behind you knows that there is Wi-Fi, though it seems like a waste of effort. You’ll obviously need the Wi-fi detecting T-shirt, and plus a bunch of double-sided tape, and 12V to 5V USB car adapters. whether you decide to do that, have fun, and let us know your feedback via the comments section.
