The Save a Drop Hose Nozzle is a pretty different device as it helps you save our earth, thanks to its operate as a water use counter that gives you a reading of just how many gallons you have spent on watering your garden. At $24.95 a pop, it might just cause you to return to using a regular pail and sponge to wash your car instead of spraying it using the garden hose.

Electric scooters might not be the norm just yet, but they’re certainly making a case for mainstream adoption, and American manufacturer ZEV is doing its part to help the process along with its ZEV7000 electric scooter. that scooter’s claim to fame is its ability to hit a top speed of about 113kph, generating a torque of about 183Nm. The ZEV7000 weighs in at about 134kg and is powered by lithium batteries which are good for about 3000 full charge cycles. It’ll cost a pretty penny, though, as its asking price is $7,237. Are you willing to pay such money to help the environment?

Next in line to jump on the green bandwagon is FedEx, as the delivery company has rolled out its first all-electric FedEx delivery trucks in the U.S. With that in place, FedEx will start to send its first four electric vans out on the roads of Los Angeles, doing its bit for the environment, while additionally delivering your parcels. that certainly won’t come cheap, as the truck’s 80kWh battery apparently costs more than a luxury sedan, but whether the company is focusing on going green, it’s certainly a step in the right direction. possibly we’ll have electric luxury planes in the near future too, eh?

Is the Energy Star product that you recently purchased really favorable to the environment? A report has surfaced showing that it’s really not too hard to pull the wool by the folks behind the certification program, and obtain an Energy Star approval. Investigators with the Government Accountability Office (GAO) actually managed to obtain Energy Star approval for 15 of the 20 fictitious products that they submitted for certification with fake energy-savings claims, while of the 20, two were rejected, and three did not get a response. Amongst the phony products that received certification included a room air cleaner that shows an electric space heater with a feather duster and strips of fly paper attached to it. To further compound the issue, two of the certified products actually received purchase requests by real companies, as four bogus firms, developed for the purpose of the research, were listed as Energy List partners. Do you generally pay attention to the Energy Star certification when making purchase decisions?

The Center for Accident Research and Road Safety (CARRS-Q) certainly looks like a very high-tech and realistic driving simulator. It was developed by the folks by at the Queensland University of Technology, and is supposed to display the difference amidst control on road and fatal tragedy. The simulator is able to simulate driving under different conditions, allowing it to be used by researchers to study dangerous driver behavior. It sports eight computers, projectors, and a six degree of freedom motion platform, providing the driver with a realistic driving environment in order to bring out the driver’s instinctive behavior, helping researchers plan out solutions against them in order to avoid accidents in the future. Sounds good, doesn’t it?

Desktop computers aren’t the only devices that should get all the interest from overclocking, not when you have something like that stock Palm Pre which touches 800MHz from 500MHz, running on version 1.3.5.1 of the webOS software. Needless to say, the additional performance boost came with a price – the phone was pretty warm for much of the day it was turned on, and battery life is less than stellar to say the least. We wouldn’t recommend putting that in your pants pocket unless you don’t mind giving your family jewels a nice, toasty and potentially flammable environment.

We previously brought the eco-friendly Sony Ericsson Naite to your attention, and now it seems that the phone is ready for prime date, as it’s now available on the Sony Style website (albeit “out of stock” at moment of writing). that unlocked and unsubsidized phone will set you back $159, which might seem a little steep for such a phone, but considering that it’s made of 50 percent post-consumer recycled plastic, and comes with an low ability consumption charger, you’ll be doing your bit for the environment.
