Electric bikes may not be all that popular, but whether you’re fairly rich, you can get some really cool electric bikes, such as the M55 EVO-001, which is made from a single-piece molded aluminum frame. that bike offers an integrated battery pack along with a strategically positioned motor for better stability. There will be two different versions of that bike, the first being a street legal version with a 250W motor, while the other is an off-road sport version that packs a 1300W motor. The bike is equipped with Brembo disc brakes in order to bring the bike to a halt from its top speed of 43mph. that handmade bike is a limited edition and there will only be 250 units made, so you’d better get your checkbook ready.

Yuji Fujimura’s Electric Bike Concept Ver2 does look like something which will increase the volume of bicycles in a parking lot simply considering of the ultra thin design complete with folding pedals as well as handlebars. Of course, that will require special racks that will see the space due to fit one conventional bike hold three of such special concept bikes. Similar to many of the new electric bikes, Fujimura’s design will see a combination of pedal ability and electric potential. Apart from that, there is plus a space for you to charge up your gizmos with that, just to keep up with the times. Nice concept, but will it see the light of day?

Do you like to cycle, but often find yourself too lazy to pedal all the way home after you’re halfway into your trip? The CYCOOO electric foldable bike is looking for supporters like you. It manages to cram in an electric motor, rechargeable battery and some control electronics, allowing to it electrically assist your pedaling, which translates to less sweat from you. In case you happen to have a friend drive by and offer you (and the CYCOOO) a ride home, the bike can be folded to fit into his car, and your escape from exercise will be complete.

KTM is more than ready to roll out its Freeride electric bike for the masses, where it will come in a couple of versions – the supermoto will target those who are on the road, while the endure will handle all off-road excursions that come your way. The Freeride is based around a lightweight delta box frame with forged aluminum components to keep it lightweight, where the normal gasoline-powered engine will be replaced by a compact 30 horsepower electric motor which has the ability to churn out 43Nm of torque, while being able to hit a top speed of 43 mph. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack is used to supply electricity to the motor, where it takes a mere 1.5 hours to hit a maximum charge which results in approximately an hour of continual riding. Expect the KTM Freeride to come at a not-so-free price of $13,500.

The HMK 561 Carbon Fiber Motorbike might seem like it’s from another planet, but seeing as there’s already a prototype in place, perhaps humans did come up with it after all. The HMK 561 has special electrical properties that hold ability right inside the frame. Since Carbon fiber is conductive, the designers are using it to distribute potential instead of wires. The ability will be used to potential the lights and the motors within the rims. The bike additionally uses the energy to turn the wheels using a counter-turning axel in lieu of gears and chains, which hopefully means less maintenance as well.

The Yike Bike electric folding bicycle is pretty interesting – who would’ve thought that something like that would ever hit the market? While it might be the lightest and smallest of its kind in the world, it definitely ain’t cheap at $4,450 a pop. Guess the same applies to anything with a superlative word in them. Designed and constructed in Christchurch New Zealand, the Yike Bike weighs a mere 10 kgs, and can hit a top speed of 25km/h. It is made out of carbon composite to achieve its lightweight frame, and takes 30 minutes to recharge fully.

Will we have a companion vehicle to take with us when we’re on public transportation next year? The CMYK folding bike certainly looks like it can manufacture that a reality. The bike can be folded up in a few easy steps, and the 110 volt battery is decent to ability the bike for about 50 minutes after a 2-hour charge. The CMYK is scheduled to hit the market somewhere in 2010, and will set you back around $600 to $800. Keep an eye on that, and we’ll keep you posted.
