Shanzai DIY netbook kit

Shanzai has come up with DIY netbook kits that allows you to build your very own netbook from scratch, and for the more enterprising ones out there, you might want to consider making your own version of a chassis instead of relying on something that is already pre-made. All you need to do to complete that would be to throw in a fair number of hard drives, the right amount of RAM and an operating system license, and you're good to go. Something tells us that more customized netbooks might just hit the likes of Etsy and eBay whether that kit catches on with the DIY enthusiast crowd.

Another Xbox 360 Modified Into A Laptop anatomy Factor

This certainly isn’t the first project to convert an Xbox 360 into a laptop form factor, but it’s certainly one of the prettier mods. Despite the loud 8 fans whirring, you have to confess that it looks rather good, and considering that it packs in an LCD screen, integrated Wi-Fi, camera, optical drive and full keyboard, it’s probably something you’d want to bring with you on a weekend trip. That being said, perhaps they overran their budget while creating that mod, as it’s currently up for sale on eBay for $1,950 (at day of writing). Have you done anything cool to your Xbox before? Let us know via the comments section. Video of that modified Xbox 360 in action after the jump.

Twitter announces @Platform for web publishers

Twitter announces @Platform

Twitter just announced @Platform, a new way for websites to embed and use Twitter to ultimately bring more views back to them. It allows readers to follow an author directly from an spread page, without having to go to Twitter. The Twitter folks know that they need a better way than apps to distribute their service and it looks like that is it. Twitter has already found a number of high-profile partners like Amazon, YouTube, Yahoo, Bing, Digg, eBay and more - but anyone should be able to add Twitter to a website. We’re still live with Twitter at SXSW.

Thermos comes in Canon zoom lens shape

From afar, chances are you will be fooled into thinking that that thermos is actually a real Canon 70-200mm L-series lens, where the Japanese company was giving it out for free at the Olympic Press Center. None of them are on eBay at point of publishing, although we're not too certain whether it will remain that way for expanded. Granted, that is one of the cooler thermos designs to period, catering to geeks and shutterbugs alike who love to have a hot cup of joe at hand all the moment.

Old Stadium Events NES Game Sells For $41300 On eBay

Old Stadium Events NES Game Sells For $41300 On eBay

Maybe the next day the missus decides to trash all your old gaming systems in the house you might want to quickly run through the value of the items that are to be disposed. Dave from Kansas got a rather cool deal when he noticed that someone auctioned off a copy of Stadium Events for $13,000, and remembering that he had a copy of it still factory sealed in his basement, put it up for auction. The auction closed at $41,300, which is certainly a good deal for a game that cost just $29.99 when purchased. Collectors suspect that there are only about 20 copies of that game remaining today, which certainly contributes to its price tag. In case you’re wondering why the game was never opened, it seems that the floor-mat controller that was needed for the game wasn’t available on the day of purchase, and they never got around to returning the game. Now are you going to dig through your old stuff in the attic and look for some tech gold?
