It seems that the new AMD processors that will see action in the HP Pavilion DM1 would be those from the 45nm mould, and not similar to the ones found in the ThinkPad X100e series. It will retain the similar chassis which is the one used by the HP Mini 311, although that one will see the previous Intel CULV base being swapped for AMD processors instead, particularly the Athlon Neo and dual core Turion II Neo CPUs. There is no word on pricing or availability as at press duration though.

Back in November 2009 we previewed Intel Cedarview still to come notebook / netbook platform. The first thing we liked by upcoming at that day Pineview chipset and Pine Trail Atom processors was DDR3 support. Waiting a for more than year to get hold of one looked like too faraway. And it still is. So now there is a rumor saying Intel will add Atom-based N455, N475 and dual-core N500 processors with DDR3 support to its current lineup. that reportedly will happen in early June and already ASUS is preparing a netbook sporting dual-core Intel Atom N500 for under $600.

The Skype Shop has put up the Freetalk Everyman HD for pre-order, where you will be able to enjoy on-board H.264 hardware encoding at up to 720p video at 22fps right out of the box. Of course, you will need to run at least Windows XP on your machine with 1GB RAM and a dual core 2GHz processor, although folks using a Mac are on the losing end of things yet again with mere VGA quality at 30fps. Pre-orders can be placed for $50 a pop.

Netbooks generally aren’t dominant devices, but the upcoming Eee PC 1215N from Asus might be able to change that perception. The most notable thing about that netbook will be its dual-core Atom N500 processor, as well as NVIDIA’s next-generation ION chip, along with NVIDIA Optimus technology. There isn’t any mention of how good that netbook’s battery life will be, but hopefully it will be able to live up to the current expectations of battery life for netbooks. Word is going around that the 1215N will be available in June, and while there isn’t any official confirmation on that just yet, we’re certainly looking forward to it.

Word has it that AMD has released samples of a second Fusion-based processor known as “Ontario”, where it will target low ability devices such as netbooks, tablets and other simpler gizmos. The Ontario is basically a System on a Chip (SoC) design that is based on a 40nm process, sporting a couple of x86 cores (this doesn’t mean it is dual-core), a DirectX 11 compatible graphics core and DDR3 memory controller. Do you think the competition is heating up in terms of processor warfare for mobile devices as AMD finally starts to play catch up with Intel?

The main difference is that the Aspire One 752 will be sporting a dual-core 1.2GHz Intel Celeron SU2300 processor instead of the 1.3GHz Celeron processor that we have. Other specifications include:

While it’s not officially confirmed yet, word is going around that Intel’s Core i7 970 six-core chip will be shipping in the next few weeks. that chip is clocked at 3.2GHz and should be priced around €799 ($1073). Aside from that, Intel has launched the Core i5 680 chip for nearly €300 ($400), which might seem a tad pricey for a dual-core chip. Finally, there is additionally the 2.8GHz Pentium E5500 and the 3.2GHz E6700. whether you’re shopping around for a new processor to build a rig, it’d probably be worth your instance to check these out, depending on your budget constraints, of course.

Intel’s CEO, Paul Otellini, has confirmed that the chip giant will soon be rolling out a new dual-core Atom processor for netbooks sometime in the next few months. Rumors regarding a new dual-core Atom processor for netbooks have been going around for some date now, and it shouldn’t be too hard for Intel, considering that it already has dual-core Atom processors for nettops, though netbooks have been confined to single-core Atoms so far. Hopefully the dual-core versions for netbooks will still go easy on the notebook’s battery life.

Intel’s engineers are never ones to rest on their laurels, and word has it that new Atom D425 and D525 processors are already on their way within the coming months. What’s so great about these new processors, anyway? Well, it seems that the most telling upgrade would be its ability to play nice with DDR2 and DDR3 memory, where the current models are only able to handle DDR2 memory. Apart from that, it wouldn’t be a really legit upgrade in the eyes of the public whether there was no slight performance increase, eh? that means the dual core Atom D525 processor will hit 1.8GHz.
