While you’re currently able to get force feedback on your Nintendo DS via unofficial channels, speculation is going around the Nintendo might integrate a force feedback (rumble) feature into the upcoming Nintendo 3DS. In a patent application, it can be clearly seen that Nintendo has a vibrating motor in a console that looks more or less like a DSi, which is a good indication that the company is looking to force feedback integration. Of course, just considering Nintendo has filed for such a patent, it doesn’t guarantee that the 3DS will be getting such a feature. Still, there’s nothing wrong with us dreaming about the possibility, right?

The news of Nintendo’s upcoming 3DS console is probably still fresh and your mind, but we’ve got a little something additional to add-on to it that afternoon. It seems that the 3D feature on the 3DS might be achieved by using a parallax barrier LCD from Sharp. Such technology would certainly allow users to experience the 3D feel on the console without having to wear a pair of dorky glasses. Word is that the 3DS’s display will be less than 4-inches diagonally, making it similar to that of the DSi. Aside from that, it seems that there will plus be 3D control sticks, though it’s unclear whether that refers to an analog joystick. Other rumored features of the 3DS include Wi-Fi transfers, better battery life as well as a vibration operate. How many of these features will be confirmed in the next few weeks? It’s hard to tell; hopefully we’ll have some cool news regarding that upcoming device soon.

It seems that the long-awaited update for the Nintendo DSi will come in the anatomy of the Nintendo 3DS. whether you’re wondering that name means, it’s not hinting at a portable gaming console with 3 displays, rather the next Nintendo portable console will offer 3D gaming, and you won’t need those pesky 3D glasses. The 3DS might be a temporary name, as it hasn’t been set in stone yet, but at least it’s an easy-to-remember name. Nintendo has already confirmed backwards compatibility with the current crop of Nintendo DS and Nintendo DSi, and the console will be revealed at the E3 gaming conference in June, and is slated to hit stores in March 2011. Are you looking forward to 3D gaming on your portable gaming console?

While we know that Nintendo will definitely roll out a spiritual sequel to the Nintendo DS platform, we still don’t know what the official name would be, so Nintendo DS 2 would have to do for the moment. Needless to say, an updated version ought to feature larger displays compared to the current DSi and DS XL, where you can use these displays as separate ones or one huge one. Of course, the resolution count would be improved as well, alongside the introduction of an accelerometer to help it keep up with the iPhone in terms of portable gaming. Perhaps E3 that year would be the platform where the DS 2 would be announced?

Guess Nintendo knows that ebooks could very well be the next big thing, so why not push forward the advantage of its DSi XL’s larger display (4.2″) by offering a downloadable package of ebooks known as 100 classic books, where it will hit Wii channels that coming June 14th onwards for $20. Guess classics will never grow old, and we hope to relive the adventures of The Three Musketeers and Little Men on Nintendo’s wildly successful handheld console. Of course, the mentioned titles are just speculation on our part, but whether those don’t compose it to the list of classics, we do question the standard of quality being applied there.

Nokia could be on to something here with the Ovi Orion concept, a touchscreen version of its N-Gage gaming handset. that conceptual device could end up being a great gaming platform, bringing all the positive qualities of the iPhone and PSP in a singled-out device – hopefully it would additionally have the DSi’s endurance for those trans-Atlantic flights. Features of the Nokia Ovi Orion include a 4.3″ touchscreen display, a high end GPU and processor, tactile feedback for its gaming controls, HSDPA and Wi-Fi connectivity and an accelerometer. Well, we’ll relegate that to the stuff of dreams in the meantime.

No, we don’t mean that there will be another Nintendogs mania of sorts, but the DSi and DS Lite have literally gone furry in Japan – thanks to that latest fashion trend (most of us would probably think that it is a fashion faux pas instead) that encases your beloved portable gaming machine in some fur-like material to keep it presumably warm during the winter months. Best to get a color that matches that faux fur coat of yours.

Gaming on the iPhone is supposed to be something fun and takes full advantage of the touchscreen display as well as its accelerometer for some. Very rarely do you need to deal with button presses, making us wonder why something like the $12 iPDA iHandstick was concocted thereupon – so you might have a better, more PlayStation-like grip for folks with extremely large hands, but surely you won’t be spending hours upon hours on the iPhone for gaming, right? That’s what the PSP and Nintendo DSi are meant for.
