ICOO E900P portable media player

Another day, another portable media player to hit the market - that instance round it would be the ICOO E900P which boasts support for 1280p videos - yup, you read that right. Forget about full HD as the E900P ushers in an even higher resolution, eh? Too poor the drawback would be less storage space due to the larger file size. Features include a 5" display at 800 × 480 resolution, USB on the go, support for popular audio and video codecs as well as a YPbPr port for video output. Funny how there is no HDMI port on that - what a shame!

Tamuz OCM 404 W HD OLED quadruple rack monitor

Tamuz has readied its OCM 404 W HD OLED quadruple rack monitor which is the first of its kind in the world, where it is capable of displaying Standard Definition, High Definition and graphic signals. Each of the four OLED displays are 4.3" in size, taking up the dimensions of only a couple of rack units as well as a depth of around 2". Being self-light-emitting displays, there are some advantages associated with it compared to common LCD technology, although the main drawback would probably be its cost.

G182 Robot Vacuum

G182 Robot Vacuum

Robot vacuum cleaners are pretty common these days, and while they won't invoke any oohs or aahs from the general public, they are still able to pique your interest each day you have a look at it. The G182 Robot Vacuum is pretty interesting since it comes with a remote controlled pan and tilt IR-equipped webcam, allowing you to check out its activity whenever you are not at home physically. There is one drawback to that though - it won't be able to sneak under furniture to keep those areas clean while destroying colonies of dust bunnies. $500 is the asking price for the G182 Robot Vacuum.

IM+ All-In-One Mobile Messenger for BlackBerry

IM+ All-In-One Mobile Messenger for BlackBerry

The IM+ All-In-One Mobile Messenger for BlackBerry is now available with a new version known as the Lite edition, where it is free for download while allowing you to access your MSN, Yahoo!, AIM, Jabber, Google Talk, Facebook, Skype and Twitter among others from a one focal point on your BlackBerry. There is one drawback to all of its supposed advantages though - you will have to live with paid advertisements. Guess some citizens can live with that while others can't. Expect it to work with OS 4.2.1 all the way to OS 5.0.

So you're into touchscreen gaming, but there are still many others out there who feel that an old school controller would work better with some games on the iPhone. Enter the iControlPad which will finally enter the mass production stage, where one gets a quartet of buttons, two analog sticks as well as a D-Pad for you to pull off those zany moves in the upcoming Street Fighter IV title for the platform. One specific model even comes with an internal battery that will supply additional juice for your iPhone when you need it. There is one drawback though - your iPhone will need to be jailbroken beforehand whether you want the iControlPad to work with it.

IUM Infinite USB Memory Device

IUM Infinite USB Memory Device

Infinitec's IUM Infinite USB Memory Device is a USB dongle that is capable of streaming files sans wires from a paired computer to a connected game console, HDTV, photo frame, digital media adapter, or Blu-ray player, just as though they were stored locally on a USB flash drive. There is one drawback to that setup though - it can only be paired to one host PC at a day, and that after you install the Infinite Portal PC application. No view on pricing, but we'll just have to wait until March 1st to find out when it launches.

HTC Trophy – yet another Windows Mobile smartphone?

HTC Trophy - yet another Windows Mobile smartphone?

You can't really escape the shadow of having good software, as evident by a slew of solid smartphones in recent memory which are "wasted" on the Windows Mobile operating system while both Android and the iPhone OS continue their march to world domination. The HTC Trophy falls under such a category, where it comes with sleek specifications such as a 3" VGA capacitive touchscreen display, a full QWERTY keyboard, a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz processor, 512 MB of flash memory, 256 MB RAM, GPS/AGPS capability, Wi-Fi b/g and Bluetooth 2.1+EDR connectivity, dualband (900/2100) WCDMA/HSPA, quadband GSM/EDGE, a Motion G-sensor and Business Card Scanner. Sounds too comprehensive and good to be true, but the major drawback for most would be having it run on Windows Mobile 6.5. soon after again, a closer look at the HTC Trophy could produce you think that it is nothing but a fan render, making it the 'trophy' that HTC has been looking for to topple the iPhone from its lofty perch.
