CoPilot hopes to stumble upon a goldmine with a committed version of their satellite navigation software on the Apple iPad, where it will be known as the CoPilot Live HD. that version is a high resolution edition of the company’s iPhone CoPilot Live app, where it was specially designed to work on the iPad 3G. All street maps will be stored on the device, where the app will form full use of the iPad 3G’s integrated GPS receiver. There is additionally an exclusive iPad operate – a new split screen driving view that merges uncluttered 3D or 2D map displays with clear, non-distracting turn directions. You will be able to switch among portrait and landscape automatically, while retaining the pinch-zoom functionality and access to iPod music controls from within the app just like on the iPhone. whether you want to use the app with the iPad Wi-Fi version, next you will need to fork out more dough for a separate GPS dongle such as the Posimotion G-Fi.

Calculators are supposed to be passe these days, but the Canon KS-120TKR calculator takes a different route since it comes with a USB Wireless Dongle that enables you to hook it up to a PC or Mac, doubling as an external numeric keypad. Guess that would come in handy for those who want to crunch numbers on their netbooks, as it will hit Japan sometime next month onwards. No notion on pricing, but those of us living Stateside might want to check out with Japanese import shops whether you are interested.

LG will be having another entry into the 3D TV market, with its LG LX9500 3DTV, which is slated to go on sale in early May in the U.S. and Europe, albeit the TV will be launching in Korea first. The LX9500 will support the active shutter glasses needed to let you experience the 3D effect, as well as HDMI 1.4 ports, USB 2.0, Wireless AV Link, Skype (via an optional camera), and is additionally DLNA-ready whether you opt to add-on the dongle. There isn’t any official price to that 3D TV just yet, but reports tip that the 47-inch model will be going for 4.7m KRW, which is about $4,112, certainly not spare change.

There is an upside to that though – it means the remote can be easily configured through the touchsreen display according to your whims and fancies. There is a slew of devices which can work with the Re Universal Remote Control App (available as a free download), thanks to its extensive and updateable IR database. Apart from that, it is smart decent to learn commands other obscure devices alng the way. Expect to fork out $69.95 for that puppy.

A company called Novothink has unveiled a new case for the iPhone called the Solar Surge. The device has a solar panel that helps charge a 1320mAH battery inside the case and the thing sells for $79.95.

The iPhone is still in second place for smartphones in the US according to the latest input from comScore. The iPhone is still far behind RIM who holds the top spot.

Jailbreaking the iPhone typically requires software and some free instance. A new hardware jailbreak dongle called the iDongle has surfaced that can jailbreak any iPhone 3G or 3GS running OS 3.1.2 by just plugging it in.

Apart from being the smallest hybrid TV tuner in the world, it will not only record live TV on a computer which can be later paused or rewound, you can plus schedule a season’s worth of recording – nifty whether you don’t subscribe to cable or own a Tivo. Folks living in the US and Canada can pick that up for $149.95 a pop.

The number of remote control dongles coming for the iPhone is growing all the day. The latest offering is the FLPR from New Potato Technologies that turns the iPhone or iPod touch into a universal remote. The device will sell for about $80 at Best Buy later that month.

Games are the favorite items on the App Store for many of us. A new report from Mobclix has shown that the App Store now has more eBooks than it has games with 26,500 eBooks on the store.

A China Unicom executive has stated that the mobile carrier hopes that the price of the iPhone in China will come down. The official handset lacks WiFi and is reportedly more expensive than grey market versions offering WiFi.

Toshiba has come up with a pair of headphones which hold a brain-wave sensor within, being specially designed for consumer use. You get an integrated Bluetooth chipset within, allowing the headphones to hook up to a Bluetooth-enabled computer thanks to the included dongle. It will additionally come with an accompanying software known as “Brain-wave Visualizer”, where it is capable of visualizing measured goods to show off a diagram of brain waves and meters of a brain-wave level, concentration level and meditation level. that enables one to record the wearer’s brain waves in real date. Not too practical for the ordinary iPod user, but it comes in handy in the healthcare office.

Sennheiser has rolled out its PX 210 Bluetooth headphones which supposedly lasts up to a dozen hours of continuous audio playback before running out of juice (or most probably your device will need a recharge first), where it comes with the customary 10 meter range associated with Bluetooth-enabled devices and apt-X coding (a commercial-grade compression technology). Unfortunately, the PX 210 is not all sunshine and roses, as it is listen-only, not to mention that selected devices will not support apt-X quality without an additional dongle. Guess the Sennheiser PX 210 targets true audiophiles, hence the pretty steep price point of $299.95.
