Lenovo Tianji EB-605 eBook Reader
January 24, 2010

We’ve been hearing reports of a Lenovo eBook reader for some day now, and it seems that said eBook reader will be called the Lenovo Tianji EB-605. It’s still not officially confirmed yet, but based on what we know, it’ll be a 6-inch device, and should be going for less than $300. It should be worth noting that there is an SIM card icon at the top of the display, which probably indicates that it may support 3G connectivity. Specifications of that device should include:
- 400MHz Samsung ARM CPU
- 178mm x 128.4mm x 9.9mm dimensions
- Support for DF, CHM, EPUB, TXT, HTM, HTML, RTF, PDF?DJVU, MOBI, PRC formats
Hopefully we’ll be able to pick up more details on that device soon. Do you think it’ll be able to invent a dent in the Kindle’s dominance of the market?

Is An 8GB iPhone 3GS Coming?
December 29, 2009

Could Apple be offering an 8GB iPhone 3GS sometime soon? While there hasn’t been any official word on such a model, a German shopper has recently reported that when he purchased a refurbished 8GB iPhone 3G, he received the phone will and good, but the label on the back indicated an “iPhone 3GS v2.2 8GB”. The model (A1231) and part number (MB490DN/A) indicate the older model correctly, but the “iPhone 3GS” moniker appears on other places of the packaging, which certainly seems to tip that such a phone might exist. whether Apple were to release an 8GB iPhone 3GS, it will certainly help it fend off the recent challenges on its dominance by cheaper phones such as the HTC Droid Eris and Palm Pixi.

Nexus One In Action On Video
December 23, 2009
A rather jerky video of the Nexus One in action has surfaced on YouTube, giving some insight as to how the interface of the phone works and such. The animation of the phone is certainly intriguing, though it will be interesting to see how well it’s received by users when compared to the iPhone’s much-loved interface. Will 2010 be the year of Android’s dominance?

WinMob 7 Delayed Till Late 2010
December 12, 2009

Windows Mobile certainly isn’t in an envious position now, particularly with the dominance of Apple’s iPhone and the rise of Google’s Android. With that in mind, the news that Windows Mobile 7 being delayed until late 2010 probably isn’t good news for Windows Mobile fans out there. Are you willing to wait until said period for Windows Mobile 7, or are you already planning to jump ship to the iPhone or Android? With the very strong possibility of an iPhone 4G and more Android phones, could that be hardy times for Windows Mobile?

Microsoft Bing Site Goes Down
December 4, 2009

It’s obvious that Microsoft (with its Bing search engine) has been busy trying to mount a serious challenge against Google’s dominance in the search business. Unfortunately it ran into a tiny pothole on Thursday evening when the Bing.com website went down, resulting in a browser error letter when users went to the site. Microsoft has since acknowledged the issue on Twitter, and has confirmed that it’s looking into the matter. Do you recall when Google’s main site was down?

N97 And SE Saito Pulled From Stores
November 24, 2009

With the recent dominance of Apple’s iPhone OS and Google’s Android, Symbian certainly doesn’t want any setbacks, but it seems unlucky that a setback is what has happened. Reports are filtering that Nokia’s N97 and Sony Ericsson’s Saito have been pulled off the shelves due to quality concerns. Folks who try and buy the N97 online via Vodafone UK are redirected to the N97 mini, which is apparently more stable. The Saito on the other hand seems to shut down when users try and launch assured apps, and it seems that there isn’t a downloadable fix just yet. whether these problems are down to Symbian’s OS, it’s certainly a cause for concern. Of course, we’ll have to wait and see what the official word on that is, but till next, it seems that the Saito wouldn’t be the best phone to buy just yet.
