Yamaha has announced their YSP-5100 in Japan, bringing a digital sound projector right into the middle of your living room. Tipping the scales at 11kg, that device will work best with 50″ HDTVs as well as video projectors, capable of supporting 7.1 surround sound while playing nice with the following audio standards – dts-HD, dts ES and Dolby TruHD/Digital Plus/Digital/ Digital EX/Pro Logic and Pro Logic. Accompanied by a 120W projector, you get five HDMI interfaces, an iPod port and another subwoofer connection. Out in Japan before 2010 descends upon us, the Yamaha YSP-5100 will retail for $2,280 a pop.

Last week in San Francisco , we’ve announced the Uber10: the greatest gift suggestions. Two attendees came home with awesome gifts: a LG BD390 Blu-ray Disc Player with VUDU streaming (courtesy of Dolby), and a Viliv X70 mobile Web device (courtesy of Intel).
