Google Nexus One with multitouch browser

January 22, 2010

It often takes a community to come up with modifications and changes that will affect a specific device positively after the manufacturer lost out to listen to its customers, and that's what happened with Google’s Nexus One handset. A developer decided to take things into his own hands by modifying the Android 2.1 operating system to enable multitouch capability on the Nexus One browser. There is a downside to that hack though - you will lose all your bookmarks and browser settings on the initial run, while a bigger drawback would be the possibility of having the phone's warranty declared null and void. Are those the prices that you are willing to pay? To know more about the Nexus One and what we think of it, read our in-depth review.

Google Chrome OS in 64-bit

Developer Teo En Ming recently compiled the Chromium source cipher by rolling out a 64-bit version. that is a wee bit strange though, as the Chrome OS is more or less a bootable Web browser, and will normally require the juice of 64-bit processing. At the very least you won't need to distress about making certain your machine has 4GB of RAM first.
