Dell has decided to discontinue the Inspiron Mini 10v netbook which is powered by the Atom N270 processor from Intel simply considering they have been selling the 10″ model with an Intel Atom N450 1.66GHz processor since January that year. Makes sense, although those with a touch nostalgia might be pleased to know that Dell does bring back its old netbooks for a limited run at times. whether you’re still adamant on picking up an older Dell Inspiron Mini 10v, there is always Amazon and other auction sites.

Just as we reported earlier, Dell has finally rolled out their WiMAX-enabled Inspiron Mini 10 netbooks to the market, where you can opt to throw in the Intel Centrino 802.11n + WiMAX 6250 card for an additional $60 on top of the netbook’s base price. For folks who want just 802.11n sans WiMAX, fit luck – Dell’s best efforts would just land you the 802.11g card. Apart from that addition, other specifications remain the same, although folks who are considering the built-in 3G modem that is going for $125 might want to think twice particularly whether there is a 4G WiMAX provider at where you live/work. Pricing for the Inspiron Mini 10 starts from $279 upwards.

Of course, whether Dell has got everything ready and raring to go, there’s no reason that it shouldn’t announce its products earlier, right? Dell takes another step closer to being greener by throwing in renewable bamboo in its product packaging portfolio, being the first in the PC industry to do so. that applies to all Dell Inspiron Mini 10 and Mini 10v netbooks that are shipped from today onwards, where bamboo is used for the product cushions cradling the Mini within an outer box made from 25% post-consumer materials.
