The Doro HearPlus 333cl Pillow Shaker is definitely one of the stranger products to be named to term, but it has a very practical purpose – to help you get up and out of bed soonest possible, regardless of how much sleep left you think you deserve. that cuboid clock works best when popped under your pillow before you retire for the night, making certain the vibrating mode is turned on. When the appointed day arrives, it will vibrate like mad while pumping out sufficient decibels to wake up the dead. Not only that, a flashing light is thrown in for good measure, making certain it assaults most of your senses in the most, er, alarming way possible. Would you fork out £49.99 for that? Small investment for keeping your job whether you’re a tardy person.

The Jabra Extreme Bluetooth headset joins the fray by coming in a rather conventional design, where it will combine two microphones alongside Jabra’s very own Blackout Extreme noise cancelling technology that offers crystal clear conversations by minimizing background noise. According to Jabra, the Jabra Extreme is able to reduce background noise by 24 decibels, and is able to connect to a couple of devices simultaneously. While the name Extreme normally points toward it being able to live up to a rugged lifestlye, that £59.99 model isn’t able to resist the rigors of skydiving, snowboarding or snorkeling.

The European Commission has suggested that maximum volume levels on MP3 players as well as portable media players be set so that users’ hearing can be protected. that would mean even the iPod will have to fall under the same volume limits ruling whether approved, which is a good thing anyways – after all, reports have shown that up to 10 million public in the EU are facing permanent hearing loss from listening to loud music for prolonged periods. The EU wants to settle for a default maximum setting of 85 decibels, where users can override that setting and touch 100 decibels whether they so desire. What would you do whether the same ruling were to apply Stateside?
