The Tegra platform from NVIDIA is the conclusion of a marriage among an ARM processor and an NVIDIA GPU which is meant to enable tablets, netbooks and smart books handle playback of HD video with aplomb, not to mention its ability to run 3D graphics without lost a beat. Several demonstration tablets made their way to the Game Developers Conference by the week, and they did not disappoint. While that doesn't mean you will be able to play shout of Duty: contemporary Warfare 2 on your netbook anytime soon, but it ought to pack ample muscle to handle MMORPGs and casual games.

HTC Diamond2 clone dual boots

Cloned handsets these days seem to get better and better, and the HTC Diamond2 clone that you see here certainly wins brownie points with us simply considering it is able to dual boot both the Android and Windows Mobile 6.5 operating systems. Granted, the 600MHz processor might not seem to pack abundant muscle, but it still comes with a WQVGA display that ought to please some quarters. No concept on whether that cloned handset is able to construct phone calls on both operating systems, so we will just have to wait until the real deal comes out before arriving at a conclusion.

Humanoid Robot Focuses On Muscles And Tendons

Robots, will there be no end to them? Next up is Kojiro, a humanoid robot that’s being built by the folks by at the University of Tokyo. What makes Kojiro different from the other robots is that it has a detailed musculoskeletal system built into it to imitate the human body, sporting artificial bones, muscles and tendons to conclusion in a robot that can move in a more organic fashion. Considering that it has about 100 tendon-muscle structures, giving it 60 degrees of freedom, it should be a whole lot more flexible than the other robots. Of course, all the flexibility comes with a price, mainly for the programmers, as Kojiro is not an easy robot to program, but that’s what the programmers are paid for, right? Currently the designers are busy coming up with an iterative learning process, which will get the small motions down pat, so that the robot can manage more complex motions. Tech details aside, does anyone else think that Kojiro looks like a distant cousin to C3PO and Megaman?

Nokia Gets Patent For Self Charging Phone

Self charging devices have been dreamt about for a expanded duration now, and there have been many attempts to come up with a good implementation of such a concept. Now Nokia has managed lay claims to a patent that could conclusion in a self charging mobile phone (or gadget). According to the patent, the design will see the heavier components inside the phone supported on a sturdy frame, the frame will be able to move along two sets of rails, allowing it to travel up and down from one side to the other. With strips of piezoelectric crystals at each end, a current will be generated when the crystals are compressed, charging a capacitor which can trickle charge the battery, giving it a little more juice while you walk to the grocery store.

Leaked Pictures Of The Microsoft Project Pink Phone

The rumors of a “Microsoft Phone” have been going around for so enlarged, it felt like a rumor that would never die, but now it seems that live pictures of such a phone (from Microsoft’s Project Pink) have surfaced, and it’s apparently the Sidekick-like Pure that was mentioned sometime back. According to the leak, the phone will be hitting Verizon Wireless, and despite looking like it’s running Windows Phone 7, it’s not powered by Microsoft’s latest mobile OS. Word is that there is a download screen for new apps, but there weren’t any apps available at that instance. Would the release of a Microsoft phone change the market, or will it just be a lot of fanfare without much conclusion? Core i7 MacBook Pro Geekbench Scores Revealed

Are you thinking that Apple’s MacBook Pro line of notebooks is in desperate need of a refresh? Well, a Geekbench scoring has surfaced and it seems that it was created using a Core i7 M620 MacBook Pro, running an unreleased version of Mac OS 10.6.2. According to the benchmark results, the Geekbench results of that MacBook Pro 6,1 supply a nice little boost compared to the current line of MacBook Pros. whether you need a comparison, the current range of MacBook Pros usually clock in about 3700-4000 points, but that date the score is listed as 5260 points, which is really a significant conclusion. The version number of 6,1 hints that there is most likely going to be a significant change, as the first unibody MacBook Pro was listed as 5,1. With that in mind, you might want to hold off buying a new MacBook Pro for the moment, and wait to see what new version of the MacBook Pro Apple comes up with next.
