If you’re looking for a speaker that can keep you company while on your camping trips you could consider the Eton Soulra (if you’re willing to accept its bulk). It sports an 8-watt speaker can whether capable of blaring your music for up to 7 hours on a full charge. The fact that it has a sturdy and water-resistant exterior will construct it a good companion for the outdoors. More importantly is that it can draw its juice from the sun, so you don’t have to anguish too much about battery potential. It’ll currently going for $199, which might be a tad costly for a speaker, but hey, it’s solar powered!

NU has launched what is touted as the world’s slimmest portable external Blu-Ray writer, the EBR240. It supports dual-layer burning on Blu-Ray disks, and can reach speeds of 6X and 2X on BD-R discs and BD-RE discs respectively. The EBR240 additionally claims to be able to automatically adjust the writing speed to minimize disc error when using poor quality media at high-speed recording. In case you were wondering, the dimensions of that drive are 155x141x18mm, and weighs only 380g, which should manufacture it a good companion for your laptop. There wasn’t any mention of a retail price just yet.

We’ve seen digital cameras use normal AA batteries before, but a cell phone that can be powered by an AAA battery? Now that’s a little less common. Well, that’s precisely what the Olive Telecommunication company by in India is offering – India’s first dual-powered mobile phone that supports AAA batteries. Despite the phone, the FrvrOn V-G2300, being a low-end handset, the fact that it supports AAA batteries as a potential source would prepare that phone an ideal companion whether you’re going camping or somewhere where there isn’t any electricity available. There aren’t any cool features to brag about with phone that sports a 1.5–inch 128 x 128 pixel CSTN display, FM radio, speakerphone and some preloaded games. The Phone FrvrOn V-G2300 is currently going for 1699 INR (about $37) which certainly is interesting, particularly whether you plan to travel to India.

Definitely not something to have whether you are about to hold a serious conversation with your superiors or clients. Would you fork out $40 for that?

Most citizens wouldn’t think that a watch could help them in their golf game, but they obviously didn’t have the Reconvilier Hercules Golf Master watch. that rotating date piece has your classic analog display on one side, but whether you flip it by, you’ll be able to see the digital measurements of distance to the green, thanks to GPS technology. In case you’re scratching your head in confusion, the watch will need to be connected to a base station “caddie”, which will automatically obtain golf course input in meters or yards before the game. Some folks might not be too happy that you’re using an electronic aid to beat them in a game of golf, so you might want to be careful while using that watch with positive humans.

[CES 2010] Toshiba certainly didn’t want to miss out the fun at CES, and has announced its latest and greatest HDTV, the Cell TV, along with a companion media center set-top box. One of the more notable features of the TV is its processing ability, which Toshiba boasts is ten times that of more personal computers, and 143 times faster than most LCD TVs on the market today. While processing ability is rarely mentioned when it comes to TVs, that will come into to play here due to the TVs 2D to 3D conversion, converting normal 2D pictures into what it would look like in 3D, even at 1080p. Do you think you’d want to look into such a TV? It’ll be available in 46, 55 and 65-inch models. While pricing info hasn’t been announced just yet, the device should be going on sale in Q3 or Q4 of 2010.

[CES 2010] HP knows that business citizens will need a projector to go along with their presentation slides, as those fancy pico projectors just don’t quite cut the mustard – hence resulting in the HP Notebook Projection Companion. Compatible with any notebook or desktop with a VGA connection, that ultra-portable peripheral comes with a relatively small footprint, measuring 3.6″ x 1.6″ x 4.4″ while tipping the scales at less than one pound, making it extremely lightweight and easy to tote around. Interestingly abundant, it shares the same adapter as a HP notebook, letting you travel with less while making a replacement purchase even easier. You get 858 x 600 SVGA native resolution, an 800:1 contrast ratio and a maximum brightness of 100 lumens with the HP Notebook Projection Companion – hardly home theater quality performance, but ought to be more than abundant to show off your business slides with aplomb. It features an LED light source of up to 10,000 hours which is roughly the equivalent of five years of usage. Each purchase of the HP Notebook Projection Companion comes iwth a 65W Smart AC adapter, a quick start guide, a 30-pin video cable, the manual on a CD, an expandable tripod and a road-ready carrying case to get you started.
