Wacom tablet turns into Cintiq clone
March 15, 2010

Interesting - Lesa Wright has begun to sell enclosure kits which can turn a regular Wacom tabet into a Cintiq clone, and there are kits for a quartet of different models. The kit alone is not complete since you will need to pick up additional parts including a compatible notebook LCD display, a controller kit and a handful of cable extenders. Retailing for around $225 for the kit, it does sound rather expensive at first but the satisfaction of seeing your handiwork working is more than satisfactory.

Eston N97 MID runs on Android OS
March 12, 2010

Looks like the Android OS is gaining traction not only among notable hardware manufacturers, but those who walk on the clone side as well. Here we are with the Eston N97 Mobile Net Device (MID) which was announced in November last year, where it comes with a trackball located right under the display, a pre-installed copy of the Android OS with the option to run Windows CE and Ubuntu as well, a 624MHZ Marvell PXA303 processor, a 7" touchscreen display at 800 × 480 resolution, Wi-Fi connectivity and a 2,800mAh battery that supposedly offers up to 4 hours of working date. No view on storage capacity and pricing details, but you can place a pre-order in China already.

Tenda T26 clones the HP Mini 5102
March 11, 2010

For those of you who have an eye open for the HP Mini 5102 might want to be more wary when it comes to cheap online sales as you could end up with the Tenda T26 instead - a close clone of the original, including its package box. The main difference would be the slightly larger display at 11.6" compared to the 10" one found on the HP Mini 5102. Features include 1,366 × 768 resolution, an Intel Atom N450 1.6GHz processor, integrated Intel GMA3150 graphics, 1GB RAM, a 160GB hard drive, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, a trio of USB ports Wi-Fi connectivity. Throw in a PCI-E slot and you can have the benefits of a 3G module.

HTC Diamond2 clone dual boots
March 11, 2010

Cloned handsets these days seem to get better and better, and the HTC Diamond2 clone that you see here certainly wins brownie points with us simply considering it is able to dual boot both the Android and Windows Mobile 6.5 operating systems. Granted, the 600MHz processor might not seem to pack abundant muscle, but it still comes with a WQVGA display that ought to please some quarters. No concept on whether that cloned handset is able to construct phone calls on both operating systems, so we will just have to wait until the real deal comes out before arriving at a conclusion.

Sarotech CyberNetor C2-US And C4-S Network Storage Devices
March 3, 2010

Sarotech has introduced two new NAS (network attached storage) devices by in Korea, namely the C2-US and the C4-S. Both introduce a new and more efficient cooling chassis, and the improved airflow should certainly go some way to help prolong the life of your overworked hard drives. The C2-US supports 2 SATA drives in RAID 0/1/JBOD configuration, while the C4-S supports RAID 0/1/3/5/10/Clone, along with both hardware and software RAID solutions. The C2-US is going for $103, while the C4-S will set you back $287. Too poor there isn’t any mention of when (if ever) these devices will be making it by to our side of the pond.

EPad iPad clone runs on Windows 7
March 2, 2010

Superman Industrial (what a name!) from Shenzen is coming up with the first iPad clone known as the EPad, where it will run on Windows 7 while sporting Intel's latest Atom processor alongside a 10.1" display. We're still short on details here, since there is no word on the kind of Windows 7 which it will run on, but chances are it could very well be the Ultimate Edition. Measuring around 2cm thin while tipping the scales at 1.3kg, that is positively much more hefty compared to the Apple iPad, so you might want to stick to the "patience is a virtue" proverb in the meantime.
