This is still very much in the rumor bin, but word is going around that the upcoming BlackBerry 9670 clamshell device might be a Verizon exclusive. According to the rumor, Verizon asked RIM to build such a device, according to their specifications, which included a clamshell anatomy factor, 5-megapixel camera and an updated user interface. whether the rumor is true, Verizon would have the exclusive rights to the 9670 in the US, while Vodafone would have a similarly exclusive deal by in Europe. The 9670 is designed as a hip device targeted at the younger generation and has apparently been told to hit a specific price point, which suggests that that phone might not break the bank, news that is very much welcome. Do you think that there is any truth in that?

The BlackBerry 9670 is not out yet, but our friends by at BGR have managed to snap a load of photos of that upcoming BlackBerry, making it the first clamshell device from Research In Motion (RIM) to be revealed to the world (if you reduction the Pearl Flip, of course), where it additionally runs on the BlackBerry OS 6.0. that CDMA device comes with a full QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel camera which will hopefully shed the business image of BlackBerrys, Wi-Fi connectivity, a 360 × 480 resolution internal display, a generous external display, a trackpad for easier navigation, a microUSB port, a microSD memory card slot and Bluetooth connectivity. What do you think of it so far?

The product itself, however, is unlike anything Apple has ever produced. It's an old-school clamshell device, rather than an all-screen touch phone. additionally interesting and objectionable is that the phone uses an operating system that has no Chinese-language capability, so that phone is built for export outside of China.
