The WeFound F630 eBook reader from China looks a lot like a undoubtful eBook reader from an online retailing giant, but that’s quite common for many of the products coming from China. that eBook reader has a built-in China Mobile 3G (TD-SCDMA) wireless module, offering users unlimited EDGE and 3G connection via China Mobile’s SIM Card for the first three years of purchase, after which you’ll need to top up your credit as you would a pay-as-you-go phone. The $539 eBook reader offers an 800 x 600 resolution 6-inch E-ink display, weighing in at just 200 grams. It’s touted to have 14-days standby moment, which doesn’t sound too poor.

It looks as though Verizon and Vodafone are not the only carriers to offer exclusive deals for Kin 1 and Kin 2, as a hacked list of provisioning files do point towards AT&T, T-Mobile, China Mobile and a host of European networks as well sometime down the road. For those who are not in the know, the Kin handsets are not meant to be pitted against Android smartphones and the iPhone, so do not get your hopes up too high only to be dashed beforehand.

Guess you won’t find any stranger named handset in the world other than the QderoPateo Ouidoo. Its user interface resembles that of Windows Phone 7, where it will be equipped with an alleged 26-core CPU (impossible!), a 3.5″ touchscreen display at 800 × 480 resolution, 512MB RAM (how paltry), 4GB ROM, a microSD memory card slot, a 5-megapixel camera, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, and Ouidoo OS. It will hit China via China Mobile, roaming on the TD-SCDMA sometime that July for no more than $588 after conversion. Folks outside of China who are curious will be able to have a gander at it sometime later via WCDMA and CDMA2000 versions.

Looks like the whispers about the Nokia X5 were true, as Nokia has unveiled two new TD-SCDMA phones for China Mobile, the Nokia C5 and X5. Both devices will support 3G on China Mobile and will offer the first jointly-run mobile application store, the Mobile Market-Ovi Store.

The X5 is a candybar phone that is powered by Symbian. Features aren’t too poor as it offers a 5-megapixel camera with dual LED flash and video recording capabilities. A 2.4-inch 240 x 320 resolution display is there to let you enjoy your pictures and video. It’ll be launched in China that spring in black, red or white.

If you’re looking for an entry-level device, the C5 could be up your street. That being said, despite it being an entry level device, it offers the same 2.4-inch display and camera as the X5. It’ll plus be launched in spring in silver or black.

A Chinese regulator’s website was recently spotted to carry a couple of images of the Dell Mini 3T1 and Mini 3iX, where they have already received network access licenses for China – a mandatory component which is compulsory for phones to be sold in China, which points toward their debut in that part of the world sometime in the very near future. The Mini 3T1 will support the Chinese homegrown 3G standard, TD-SCDMA, making it most likely to be available from China Mobile. It is different from the Mini 3i thanks to its rectangular body and shorter display. As for the Mini 3iX, that handset supports 3G connectivity (WCDMA) that is used by carrier China Unicom, coming with rounded corners and a large display. No concept on pricing or availability though, as none of the companies involved – Dell, China Unicom and China Mobile, decided to comment.

It was previously reported that Chinese Telecom was working out a deal with RIM and Palm, and now it seems that those talks have resulted in some upcoming mobile phone offerings. It seems that Chairman and Chief Executive Wang Xiaochu has confirmed that the carrier will be offering BlackBerry devices in China come May, and the Palm Pre will be available that July, though there wasn’t any mention of the Palm Pre. Will these deals help China Telecom face off against China Unicom and China Mobile?

It seems that the war amidst Google and the Chinese Government has stepped up a notch, after Google decided to redirect users from its google.cn domain to its uncensored google.hk (Hong Kong) instead. The search results will still be affected thanks to China’s Great Firewall, but it does become more obvious to the masses that the government is filtering search results. Now it seems that China Mobile might be scrapping its deal to have Google as its default search provider on mobile handsets, which apparently might be due to pressure from the government as well. It certain seems like things are going downhill (for both parties) at the moment. What do you think the final outcome will be?

The Witspad W8 Mobile Web Device (MID) does look like a smartphone at first glance, something which hails from the HTC family of devices, but we guess we are wrong considering it lacks SMS support, which disqualifies it from being a full handset replacement. Hardware specifications include the Maemo OS, a 806MHz Marvell PXA 320 processor, a 4.3″ touchscreen display, 128MB RAM, 256MB ROM, a 3.2-megapixel camera, a 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS support, Wi-Fi connectivity and CDMA2000 3G connectivity. It is currently going for around $470 after conversion in China.

You’ll probably remember the OPhone, which runs on the Open Mobile System (OMS), China Mobile’s supposedly modified Android OS? OMS has moved from version 1.5 to 2.0, and there are some rather interesting updates. Aside from the Scalable Vector Graphics UI elements, as well as voice recognition, the most intriguing is the support for the Windows Mobile API. Does that update mean that Windows Mobile apps will be able to run natively in OMS via a compatibility layer? Considering that there is a rather large catalog of Windows Mobile apps out there, whether OMS is able to run Windows Mobile apps, it would certainly be favorable to it. There isn’t any mention of any phones that will be getting version 2.0 just yet, but hopefully something will happen soon.
