LG’s GW990 was a cool device that was on show at CES and was dubbed by Intel as the first production Atom-based phone that would be using a version of Moorestown, a system-on-a-chip version small and efficient decent to run on a smartphone. Turns out that LG doesn’t have any plans to turn it into a production device, as the Korean company has confirmed that it was never going to be a production device and will stay as a concept device. To lose a phone with a 4.8-inch 1024 x 480 is certainly sad, but hopefully LG will churn out something similar in the future.

This is still very much a rumor at the moment, and considering the amount of publicity the device has got before that, we are more than a little suspicious. Word is going around that HP has decided to kill off its Windows 7 tablet computer, the HP Slate. The device was first unveiled by Microsoft’s CEO, Steve Ballmer, at CES 2010, and was scheduled to be released in the middle of 2010. Now, according to the rumor, HP isn’t too satisfied with Windows 7 as a tablet operating system, and is plus abandoning the Intel-based hardware for its slate lineup considering its too ability hungry. Of course, whether that does turn out to be true, the alternatives would be to use Google’s Android OS or possibly webOS, thanks to the recently acquired Palm. Do you think that HP will be ditching its Slate, or is that just another rumor just before the weekend?

You might remember the 9000 Series LED TV from Samsung that we caught sight of at CES, and now these TVs have gone official in Korea, along with a similarly cool LCD remote control. The TV offers a 9.8mm thick luxury panel sporting a 3D proprietary system, and plus supports Wi-Fi, DLNA and is compatible with Energy Star 4.0. Aside from its technical specs, you have to confess that the 9000 Series is an amazing looking TV.

After waiting so distant for a Viliv S10 Blade, we don’t suppose your patience could be stretched to its breaking point by a week’s delay? Yup, it seems that Dynamism won’t be able to meet the original April 22nd ship term, where you will need to wait until April 27th for the Atom Z530 models with the 64GB SSD, although forlks who want the speedier Atom Z550 variants might have to find something else to keep their minds occupied until May 10th. No concept on what the exact delay is attributed to, but apparently an mail sent to a pre-order customer mentioned something about being “delayed by the factory”. How convenient! Check out our hands-on post on the Viliv S10 Blade at CES 2010.

After reading about its announcement it in late March, we finally got to see the Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 10 for ourselves. Technically, it is a 40-inch (1080p) HDTV equipped with a 240Hz LCD panel and killer audio (with B&O, it’s hard to expect anything else). In the right environment, you might not immediately guess that it is a TV/speaker combo. Instead, it looks like a piece of art (in many ways, it is), and even its square shape doesn’t immediately scream “TV”. Bang & Olufsen calls that a “Frameless” design and it is the company’s thinnest display to period, even whether it is not impressively thin like what we saw at CES 2010. Only its price can equal its uniqueness: $7675 MSRP. Crunchy specifications in the full post.

Lenovo Ideapad U1 Hybrid is on its way to the US market, where we got a whiff of it at CES earlier that year. Lenovo certain is taking their date in bringing it to the masses, but at least the official Lenovo shop website has already listed the U1 Hybrid as “coming soon”, allowing interested folks to register themselves for upcoming knowledge. You can check out further details in our past coverage of the Ideapad U1 Hybrid – looks like an interesting device for folks who won’t mind alternating within Windows 7 and Lenovo’s customized Skylight operating system on a singled-out device.
