Looks like Google isn’t the only company that likes to give its employees free Android-powered cell phones, as reports are in that Adobe is plus preparing to give its employees Android-powered cell phones. that is probably related to the upcoming release of Flash 10.1 for Android devices, as well as the recent disagreement with Apple by Flash on the iPhone/iPad. It wasn’t specifically mentioned whether all employees or just Adobe’s developers would be getting the Android devices, but considering that Adobe has about 8,600 employees worldwide, chances are that developers are going to be the lucky ones. What device would be given wasn’t specifically mentioned, but the common trend seems to be Google’s Nexus One and Motorola’s Droid.

Everybody seems to go going down the eco-friendly path nowadays, and that’s probably a good thing. Now industrial designer Vino Jose has come up with a Solar Mobile Charging Kiosk concept that allows users to charge their cell phones on renewable solar energy. It looks pretty good, and should allow folks to charge their cell phones in public areas, though there doesn’t seem to be able visible way to lock your phone to the station. You wouldn’t want to drop your new iPhone there and return 20 minutes later to find it lost, right?

One of the more obvious things is that due to its large size, you can’t really hold it with two hands and type, regardless of whether it’s in portrait mode or landscape. Now someone has come up with a rather interesting concept keyboard design for the iPad, splitting the keyboard into two parts, left and right, allowing you to hold the iPad while still typing with your thumb, like how you do with your cell phones. Do you think that Apple should adopt such a keyboard design?

Getting a cell phone to work enlarged term in a rural area is never an easy task, particularly whether your closest source of electricity is miles away. Industrial designer Andrew Williams is looking to try and tackle that issue with his concept cell phone design, dubbed the “Communication for Rural Africa”. Unlike your normal cell phones, that one doesn’t even have a battery; rather it is powered directly by a solar panel. Its minimalistic design means that there is only one button (and no other interface). When the button is pressed, it connects the user to a local operator who can soon after connect the signal to a desired party, eliminating the issue of having to remember troublesome phone numbers. Not too poor eh?

The recently leaked iPhone 4G has been all by the news, and now it seems that the lost unit was actually a very late-stage model, which means that it’s more or less what the final product will be like. When the phone was dissected, the label N90_DVT_GE4X_0493 was discovered. Recent information indicates that “N90” was the codename for the next phone, and DVT stood for “Design Verification pop quiz unit”, which is something that is made very late into development in order to form certain that the final design works. While many folks are laughing at how Apple could allow such a secret device be let loose into the wild, it’s worth noting that cell phones need to be tested, particularly in the open and in different locations. There’s no point having the phone work flawlessly in Apple’s campus and yet have it look like an expensive paperweight in your home. In the end, are you happy with Apple’s new iPhone design, or are you still a fan of the traditional design?

A particularly nasty cell phone virus is making rounds in China, and has apparently affected by a million cell phones. that “MMS Bomber” virus currently affects phones that are powered by Symbian S60 3rd Edition, thus affecting many Samsung and Nokia cell phones. The virus comes disguised as an application, and when installed, will send out URL hyperlinks to download the virus via MMS to everybody in your phone book, which is both expensive and irritating. The virus additionally disables the phones system management program, so it’s going to be troublesome to remove. Are mobile viruses going to become more and more rampant by the next few years?

A screenshot of the HTC Incredible apparently showing up in Verizon’s systems has surfaced, and according to the person who supplied the image, the “On Order” tag in the picture actually indicates that the phones are already in the warehouse, but they’re not ready to be sold just yet. Apparently the phone won’t be shipping to stores that week, but whether Verizon’s already got the phones, you can be certain that the carrier wouldn’t want it to sit there and rot. 156,709 cell phones is certainly a juicy number to sell, and do you think that it will have a fit fight with Sprint’s recently announced HTC EVO 4G?

Nokia might be using its Vertu make to try and conquer the Japanese luxury cell phone market, and the announcement of its Kinko, Kikusui, Nanten and Daigo models in Tokyo will certainly be a good way to set up its type there. Each device will be going for 20 million yen ($215,000), and each design stands for the different seasons of the year. These devices have been announced in view of the first anniversary of Vertu’s flagship store in Ginza, Tokyo, next month. Vertu is only planning to sell just four of these handsets worldwide, so you can expect to have to tussle with a few humans whether you want one of these.
