Ah nostalgia. How many of you out there still listen to cassette tapes? The TAP3 design from Dadahack reminds us of the good old days. It’s an MP3 player shaped like your bog standard cassette tape. You can load up your music on it via a mini USB connection or via its SD card slot. To manufacture things better, whether you still have a cassette player, you can just pop it into the player and have it operate like your traditional cassette tape. For £25, that’s not too poor, eh?

We’re not too certain just how many humans left out there have a bunch of cassettes lying around in the attic, but just in case you want to digitize whatever remaining analog music you have, next you might want to check out the Novak Cassette to Digital Converter. that device is a snap to use – all you need to do is insert a cassette tape, press the “Record” button and you’re good to go – with a choice of MP3, WAV or WMA file formats for the songs to be transcribed to. Other features include a USB port and an integrated speaker. The Novak Cassette to Digital Converter won’t come cheap though, retailing for around $125 after conversion.

Most of us don’t use cassette tapes anymore, and the next generation probably won’t even know what they are, but there’s nothing wrong with paying tribute to the humble cassette tape, right? whether you’re in agreement, next the Funkyfonic Cassette MP3 Speaker might just be what you’re looking for. It’s (very obviously) an external speaker, which can plug into a standard 3.5mm headphone jack, and is powered by two AA batteries. The price of getting these retro-looking speakers is $22.

Strapya’s back with the Music Card MP3 Player, and as you can tell by its name, it is nearly as thin as a regular ATM card despite packing in sufficient technology and memory to store 2GB worth of MP3s and WMAs. Since it comes in such a compact mode, Strapya is more or less forced to use a 2.5mm headphone jack, as cramming in a Bluetooth chipset inside might just prove too much for its battery to handle in the lengthy run. Good thing there are such things known as adapters included for folks to prepare use of their 3.5mm headphones instantly! You can choose from a gold credit card, three chocolate bar-type models, a vintage camera and a cassette tape design, with the entire device retailing for a mere $26.40.
